What else would you expect, if you even put it in your summoner name? Bonus points if your name is "unreformed" or any similar antonym. You literally put it in the name to warn the world of your nature - of course i'm going to mute you as soon as the match starts, to protect both myself and you from your own behaviour and its consequences.

It's not so much a bad match as a bad season. Never before have i had to mute people to be able to focus on the game, but this year (especially during and after summer) the toxicity has been on a whole other level. I have to mute someone on my team nearly every single match because they are either flaming a teammate or spamming the chat whenever they get frustrated.

Miror B2 votesThat being said, it is kinda understandable to do so if 95% of the people who have stuff like this end up doing the part. If I go into a game and see someone with a name like "kuks2win" or "myroleorf3eD", and they insta-hover yasuo, and 19 of the past 20 players I've been in a game with have had similar usernames and done similar things, it'd make sense to mute them immediately if only to preserve the peace of mind and stop a potential forest fire from happening.
Ultimately, while you can't always judge books by their covers, in the case of internet bullies it's always better to heed to the side of avoidance over aggressiveness.

If you want to play to win, you have to take precautions. I have to mute someone nearly every single match because they're being toxic - and the damage is already done when they have shown their true colours. As such i prefer muting players that seem shady when the match starts, rather than just muting everybody all the time.

Sadly, muting players in-game does not prevent them from writing after the game has ended.

I dont use the chat in-game, so that wouldnt affect me. I dislike having to mute people, but for the most part you dont actually need the text chat to play and win matches. The chat provides useful information in regards to ping notices, objective information and shut-down gold counts, but otherwise is completely unnecessary.
As such, i mute players that have a negative attitude in champion select or offensive names. Chances are if you broadcast to the world that you are toxic as if it was something to be proud of, you arent going to be saying anything useful in the chat.
Besides, it makes for a much more pleasant experience overall, not having the chat flood with death threats and insults.
