if we're having a shit game and we know there's no comeback, or if we just don't care enough and want to quit league and go play a better different game, we just /all open mid and leave
we do this a lot, but we've never been caught by the afk detection system or anything
is it against the rules to open mid if everyone on the team agrees to it? i don't see the point in waiting around for 20 minutes.
If someone reports you that game it will flag it and can lead to punishment. Even as a 5 man premade if the enemy reports you for it you can still be punished as it is still ruining the game for another player and you are in fact afk/assisting the enemy team/negative attitude.

you should not have queued for the game. If you had no intention of finishing the game don't queue.
I mean If EVERYONE on your team agree's with it im sure its fine... I recommend the "we will comeback strat", but if u want to play that way EVERYONE on your team has to agree. that way its fair.
When things get tough I usually quit too. Wait, no I dont. Sore loser is what you are lol
It's ALWAYS a bannable offense. The enemy team can still report you even if your own team agrees, and if they do (and if I'm on the enemy team, I'm reporting you for open mid), you will be banned.
If I'm ever on the winning side of one of those games and the other team "open mid"s and then afks, I'll be reporting all five of them for leaving the game. I'll never have to worry about that though, because I'm garbage.
As long as you are playing with 4 friends and you all agree then I don't see the problem with it. However, if you are only a 3 or 4 man premade and people who aren't in your premade are against it then yeah its a bannable offense.
If you have the entire team agree to it, then okay. But be warned that even a false report from the other team (for whatever reason) may be enough to get you and your teammates punished.
If all 5 agree, then there won't be anyone to report you nor would there even be a legitimate reason to, since the entire team agreed the best strategy is opening mid.
Open Mid is alright as long as:
I mean... I wouldn't actually afk.. otherwise eventually you will be caught. But ye i think its allowed if everyone on your team agrees.
