Is rational talking truly impossible, if connected with a solution?

Honestly, i am just asking this because i started to notice it more and more happen with threads that were created with an surprising amount of constructivity and support. So to get to the point, let me explain. Sure, a lot of Posts are covered with just personal biast and salt etc and in those honestly rarely people mind if a silent downvote goes in. However, i came to notice that the same Thing applies to consctructive threads, IF they are promoting solutions. In Gameplay, as the prime example, if you just cuss out how op janna is, no matter the salt you are going to get upvoted and supported out the ass. HOWEVER, add a solution on how to make her ok again and people instant-hate you again.

Do people just really REALLY love to hate on something for no reason at all other than it being popular?

And this is serious...well to me it is, since i do welcome a good and open conversation that stays civilized and with as much Facts as possible, so seeing people disagree with anything that might end an argument just seems delusional, for lack of better words.

Leave a comment behind if you have any opinions on this, be it saying im right, im wrong, or i should go back to memes and games like a good scrub. leave a silent downvote if you are one of those addressed in the post.

man, i just come here to see intresting posts like yours. also item 3504 should be removed. im a support and i quite strange one. i swore to myself that i will never play Janna Lulu Soraka and Sona . the reason is because they don't take skill. you can't say "oh what a cresendo it was" because it's such a fast and wide hitbox skill. having a hand and muscles does not require brain power

i play people like Blitzcrank because there not the boring support that everyone assumes the role is. the reason why i like tank supports and people like zyra is because there fun! there not bots that auto give you sheild when in trouble (the only exeption is shen, and his w is hard to time). they're just down right boring and boring is the last thing you would want rom a video game. and im not saying enchanting supports like soraka and lulu and do sh**, im saying there not fun and boring(plus i want to EARN my elo)

the thing about Blitzcrank is that he makes such an impact. it doesn't matter if the janna puts a sheild on her varus, he gonna get hooked and problably die or leave with low health.

(WARNING:THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS FILLED WITH BIAS. IF YOU ARE A CENSOR CHAMPION MAIN THEN PLEASE LOOK AWAY)

if you are a censor support, please dont consider yourself good when you point and click someone and get an assist, cause you dont need much brain power to do that.

if you have made it this far, please carry these items into your next mental or physical fight item 3072 item 3193 item 3009 (incase of retreat) item 3165 and item 3078 (also item 3800 )

have a good day! [slayer-jinx-wink]

This is a deeper question that is typically sought after in Philosophy classes. Rational discussion rely on reason and logic. Logic is often misunderstood that if something is Logical, then it's true. And that is a false statement.

Example of a logically sound, but false statement: All Men are Mortal. Jennifer is not a man. Jennifer is not mortal. Rightly or wrongly this simple statement can be argued.

Reason is even more subjective. How one reasons and what they base it on can create huge problems for communication. Many people anywhere (Not just these boards) will think they are arguing a posteriori, meaning they think they have hard evidence, when most of the time people reason, argue, discuss based on a priori which does not rely on evidence or experience, but can be validated or invalidated by experience. They think they have fact, when they have opinion. And when presented with a refutation? Instead of stating, "thank you for setting me straight", or offer a counter argument that shows further proof based on actual evidence, they flame instead. (I'm guilty of this as well)

I responded to such a post with a first sarcastic response and it made the whole thread toxic. I know better too, but I didn't think before I hit the post button on how my words sounded. What sounded to me like light criticism was taken for hostility (understandably so) and the OPs response was more hostile then what I think was called for even though in hindsight my reply was bad. The problem with my sarcastic first post, was I put the OP in a defensive position right away. The OP will now double down on what they think happened and won't listen to anything else. that's my fault, to an extent.

Paraphrasing the OP:

"I reinstalled LoL, My motherboard no longer works. Therefore LoL broke my mother board and owes me a refund." (In his post, he confuses crashing the OS, with "breaking his motherboard")

I being the first person to reply wrote "I highly doubt this, in fact this post proves you do not know how computers work".

Just a few examples are roadblocks to Good Discussion:

Cultural differences can lead to misunderstandings of popular slang and turn of phrases.

Tone is extremely difficult in writing. Misinterpreting tone often leads to anger.

People with sarcastic short responses (I'm guilty of this)

This game has many complex variables and no one player can profess to know them all enough to argue correctly all the time. However, plenty of players think they do know and that leads to a lot of argument, flaming, ect.

However, I've taken part in many good discussions on these boards, but I agree it's not typical.

I think you're right.

There's a ton of ADC hate atm, and although some of it is warranted it's often exagerrated.

Everyone plays different roles and positions, so everyone has a different experience with the game.

People tend push their idea of balance based on what they like or dislike to play against in their role. They also often leave the context out of their points because many of the threads don't have a lot of substance to them. They are right at times, but they make things out to be what they're not.

Many of the hate threads aren't really questioned or looked into. They're just upvoted because people find it easier to pitchfork that one thing instead of looking deeper into the post first.

This causes an awkward situation where Bias fills the forums and gets upvoted whilst reasonable threads like this end up lost in the wind.
