Permanent ban for CHAT offense? WHY?

Hello everybody,

So I was just wondering why does Rito give permanent (and temporal) bans for CHAT offenses, like flaming etc... If your offense is chat related why aren't you simply muted? Also, since we have the mute option in the game, why is flaming even punished, just mute him and go on?

Because they tried permanent chat restrictions, and found out that these resulted in a large increase in non-chat-related trolling, which was harder to detect and more damaging to gameplay. As a result, if you cannot behave well enough to be trusted with chat, Riot doesn't trust you with the game, period.

As for why flaming is punishable: the mute button exists as a shield to prevent exposure to toxicity, not as a tool to enable it. The responsibility is still on the rulebreaker to not break the rules, not on the victim of their toxicity to mute (although they should do that as well).

Hello everybody,

So I was jut wondering how does Police give jail for public NUDITY.... Why don't the police simply puts a blanked on you? Also, since people can just look the other way, why is public nudity even punished, just look away and go on?

Muting isnt a solution to the problem, its a stop gap. Why does riot ban for chat related offenses? Because the community at large doesnt want to deal with toxic players, and riot doesnt want to endorse them either.

And before you say "just perma mute them", turns out if youre garbage enough to be toxic in chat and unable to type, youll just int.
