What kind of game league feels more like

When I play singleplayer games, if I play right, I tend to do well and win. There may be some bad rng sometime but for the most part, if I input the effort, I am rewarded with victory. I get that league is not a single player game. League is not just a multiplayer game. It's a team based game.

League of legends was a great game in concept. It was a game where the goal was about taking down towers and enemies until you reach the nexus. The game used to be about skill or doing well on your own so you can snowball and win the game. Slowly, league became more and more of a team based game where solo carry was less apparent. I don't mind really. I used to enjoy the game just mainly for the fact that even if I lose, I'm always learning and improving myself as a player. But now the game seems more like individual skill does not matter as much as it used to. At least in normal games, I feel like league is not about trying to do your best to win, or improving yourself as a player.

The way I see league now, it's a game that I play if I wanna get into a match where it is highly likely that my teammates aren't really trying to win and I must find around that to win or try my best not to get angry for losing. There's only so much a person can do if you got a teammate who just decides, oh hey yeah i dont wanna try so they basically intentionally dont help you. Example? I had a game where lucian had to solo bot and was constantly typing in chat that he needs a support that he cannot 1v2 meanwhile our top lane had 2 at top vs akali so in retrospect, the akali was basically dealing with the same thing lucian was about being in a 1v2 lane. But because the typical bot needs 2 and top is meant to always solo lane, akali's side it's perfectly acceptable for her to 1v2, but for lucian it is an abomination that he has to solo vs 2 bot. So because he had to solo bot, he chooses to let teammates die by purposely running away whenever a fight breaks out even though he is literally right there. 2v2 scenario with lucian in it? well lucian just runs away so you die getting jumped on by 2 people. 4v4 scenario? same thing. The lucian says in chat that he is just doing what everyone did to him and left him alone bot. Whether he was right or wrong, he did make it too hard to win with it being 4v5. This is only one example but happens quite often where a teammate or teammates just don't really care about winning being the overall goal.

And so the way I look at league, i don't log into league and have the mindset alright time to win, time to do my best, or time to learn this champ... instead, its more like alright time to see how much my teammates want to win or not this game for 20-60 mins. maybe ill get lucky and if not well i just gotta suck it up because i chose to play a league game. Those are my thoughts when i jump into a game now.

I'm not saying that league needs to be more snowbally like it used to be and promote solo carry. I am not really suggesting anything at all. All I am saying is this is the perspective I have when I get into a game of league now as opposed to how it used to be because the game just feels like, winning is hard when your teammates don't even care about winning as the main priority. Feel free to share your own thoughts on your mindset when you get into a league game in the comments below.

TLDR: Player discovers team based game requires team. Next up, water is wet!
