The unskilled player report was removed. So why do I STILL see people saying to report for that?

I'm no longer offended when people act like dicks to me in game, I'v learned from those days. But this just gets me confused.

Unskilled player is no longer a report option, and it doesn't fit into a specific category now. Fro my knowledge at least you can only report for feeding if it's on purpose now, everybody has a bad game from time to time. But I play league every week and I can never go a week without someone saying "report [insert player here] for unskilled" I always reply by telling them unskilled isn't a viable report anymore, and they 90% of the time respond with "report them anyway" even though that would most likely be a false report.

Unskilled was removed as a report option so long ago, so it baffles me to see people still think it exists. Like I said, I'm not offended by this at all, just confused. Are players really THIS behind the times that they think they can still report for someone simply having a bad game?

I LOVE the report changes btw. The unskilled player report option was more of a thing to vent out anger if anything, so to see I can no longer be reported by simply having a bad game makes me happy. But I still see people, on both teams, not just mine, saying to report for unskilled. And it just makes me facepalm.

I'm just confused is all. If someone can tell me why people are still saying this nowadays, that would help. I doubt that there are so many players that are behind the times that I run into one every week. If people are like that, there would be very few of them, not as common, at least I would imagine so anyway. If people can get it through their thick skulls that unskilled isn't a report option anymore I would be beyond happy.

This may feel like a rant, but that isn't my intention. This post is more of a question. I am simply asking why people still do this nowadays. And I'm half expecting an answer like "how do you expect me to know that", but I must have my curiosity satisfied. If you don't know, just make something up. Anything to answer my question will do!

I freely admit that I have been known to tell players that tell us they've never played a character to stop hindering their team and play test a character for the first time in A.I. before joining team games. But I would NEVER report them for that. We all have to start somewhere. Although it's better to practice in A.I., I do not believe anyone should be punished for that.

Why? Because they can. If no other reason, that's why. But the difference is that while you can be reported for it, Riot will, under most circumstances, will not punish you for it and will, instead, punish the person who reported you by deleting the report and making any further reports by the player have less credibility.

That's the problem when crying "Wolf!" Eventually, no one believes you.
