It should not take me saying "I got autofilled to this role" for you to stop flaming

So yes - I got autofilled twice to top lane (hardly ever play it). The second time I forgot to say I was autofilled. Picked kayle - they then picked riven.

It was a rough lane.... like very rough. I died 3-4 times, riven got decently fed. Some people like the jg and mid are like "this sucks, but hey whatever". But bot (mostly support Ahri) was delighting in making me their special whipping boy (which yeah, I fed so it was rough for them. But calling people a whore and saying I ruined the entire game for them and I should die..... not necessary).

Finally, I said, "I know I'm bad. I got autofilled so it's rough, sorry." Instant switch. "Oh sorry didn't know. It's fine, we'll be okay. Here's what we need to do - Kayle here's what you can do, here's how you can help, etc."

(The most ironic part was the support ahri saying "Guys cut her some slack," when she was the main flamer)

In the end: You shouldn't have to explain you're autofilled - or have any other explanation for playing poorly - for your team to treat you better. And being nice when you learn that doesn't excuse the toxicity you displayed earlier. It honestly makes your "niceness" really off-puttingly fake.

I honestly don't know why we have

  1. autofill in normals draft
  2. a secondary role we have to pick in normals draft. I'd rather wait 5 minutes to guarentee I get mid than 2 minutes to get my secondary role or autofilled.

Maybe make an opt out of autofill/secondary role for people who just want to play their preferred role? People who don't mind can opt into it for faster que times.

I know other people already talked about the old system but no one talked about the new system, though auto fill is a problem, the new ranked system is going to fix it with the “your role dictates what Elo you are playing in” so overall riot did Fix the issue. So for now think of autofill as more of a challenge for you to climb. :) P.S. just be thankful it’s not the old system where if you were last pick you just dodged so you didn’t have to play support.

Autofill is a terrible system in general.

Hi there! If someone is flaming you it is best to not say anything and mute then and simply report them after the game. If they continue to flame in future games it is more likely they will get punished. Yes auto fill is annoying but all you can do is your best! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Indeed. Whether you've been autofilled or not, there's no excuse for other players to flame for lane difficulties. That comes from the deeper issue of players often using a losing lane as a scapegoat. People spend a lot of time thinking about what's going wrong, but very little on how to fix it. If you're not an ass, your teammates are more likely to listen to you and there's a decent chance that you can turn a game around.

You should be glad that a jerk lost a game because you got autofilled rather than someone you like.

Hmm, have you ever tried, idk maybe, NOT FEEDING?!

Trust me, then you wont get flamed ;) BTW, if you don't like what she writes, MUTE HER, you know, there is a button specially for this.

If you don´t mention you are autofilled in lobby, so noone can swap roles or and help you out, you deserve whatever flak you get for doing bad. Knowing who and who isn´t autofilled determines a lot of decision making. I shouldn´t have to lose 1-2 2v2´s botlane before my adc tells me they are autofilled. If I had known I would not have played as if they are competent and would have avoided even a good play or pick because they need to slowly adjust as we play safe.

being autofilled shouldn't even be an excuse for doing poorly. You should be able to play every role.
