If we send proof of some one threatening to kill you they should be permanent ban

People who wish death or even tell some one they will kill them with 100% proof with picture should be permanent ban from league without a chance to reform.

I had a game where a Ekko mid told me he would come to my house slit my throat my family and my dog all because I didn't gank since it had only been simply 4 fken minute into the game without clearing a whole side of jungle yet he ends up dieing and my mid Irelia ends up dieing and yell at me who has not even got to finish my simple first side of the jungle yet to gank off the bat when they died by getting dumped on by the enemy solo lane.

I got 4 screen shot of this guy telling me he would come to my house and slit me my family and dog throat over a shit game. Don't get me wrong I know people rage but to the point where some one tells you they will slit your throat is not even acceptable. Hey I have my breaking point too and rage but I have not once in over 5 years of league or any game have I got to the point of threatening to kill some one or wish they die of cancer over a game.

What I don't get is how I got 4 picture of proof and after game proof too since he started to type more threats because he knows the report system can't check after game chat that he isn't ban and when i mean ban I mean permanent ban. Why I said Irelia too was because he was encouraging Ekko and telling him to slit my throat for him too.

Hey verbal abuse I don't mind since people get mad and they can get chat restriction but when you tell a person they should die of cancer or their family/ they will kill you over a game then they are mentally unstable and should be ban forever not even given 1 chance to reform.

Why I made this post was because even though I submit a ticket to Riot and gave 4-5 picture this guy is still able to play the game. People might down vote this and say he deserve a chance to reform then be my guest but If only I can post the picture and show you 4 pictures of threat that filled up 2 scroll of after game chat then you will be amazed of how unstable this guy is over a game.

(Edit)

PLEASE read this I was finding a old news about a guy making threat to explain to a person flaw logic of freedom of speech then realize this guy actually got arrested by making a threat....... OVER LEAGUE OF LEGEND. http://www.cnn.com/2013/07/02/tech/social-media/facebook-threat-carter/

completely agree!

if this were out of a "cpu realm" that guy would be arrested for terroristic threats... Riot should have a zero acceptance policy on in life real threats to harm or dismember someone... like come on!

Call the cops. Send them the prints. If you and the police deem it as a serious threath, Riot will probably be forced to cooperate (although I believe Riot would gladly do so) with the player's personal information.

Permanent ban is the least that should happen. Local (via IP) authorities should be notified as well.

This is STUPID How someone can get away with that I have no idea. You could probably tell the police and they'd do something before riot would. Do bear in mind that the 'you have banned a player' popup doesn't always appear, so it not being there doesn't necessarily mean they weren't banned, but if this is true (not doubting you or anything, just saying) then it is horrendous how they can say that and just walk away.

There SHOULD be a zero tolerance policy. What the hell is the purpose of having end of game report system if Riot will do NOTHING about this issue? Yes, I understand it's a game, but what people don't seem to understand is there is a real, living, breathing person on the other side of that keyboard. That person is comfortable describing to another individual how they would slaughter them...over nothing! Without being provoked. In any way. That's terrifying. People like this are completely fine with their behavior because OTHER people find it acceptable. Like Riot. Send them proof and they don't care. That just encourages the person to continue their horrible behavior. Furthermore, if it isn't allowed in real life (if you have proof of someone threatening you and your family, they'll be punished), it shouldn't be allowed in a game because, like I said, that IS a real person on the other side. On top of that, there are young children who play the game, and people with disabilities (which is why my autistic brother quit playing with me! We're states away. I haven't seen him in three years! Those autistic insults ruined the game for him, and they didn't even know he was autistic. He was just learning the game!). My husband's nine year old niece was playing League on her account that her brother set up for her, and she's pretty good for a young girl. She plays League and Skypes with my husband and her brother because they're all long distance and that's how they can "spend time together". She was having a bad game and everyone on their team (besides her two allies) and the enemy team was threatening to R//E HER!!! When my husband told them to be easy she's just a nine year old little girl. She was sobbing by the end of the game because she's not stupid...she's incredibly smart and she knew exactly what was going on. RIOT. DID. NOTHING. They happily danced around the R word and Riot didn't care. So those people and the people who threatened to kill the person who made this thread get off on violent fantasies, threaten other people with them...and never get punished. The game can be fun, yeah, and I've spent so much money on it that I'll keep playing. But holy shit. That's ridiculous. Things like this only happen maybe once every 50 games or so but damn, that's still too much because those people that I rarely see still get paired up with others after they leave my game and spread that negative energy. No. Riot. You should protect your community. You made chat restrictions and permabans for a reason right? Then why not use that authority not only on boosters, but these violent people too! And why do people get banned for calling others "n///rs".....but not for threatening to kill others, sexually assault them, or telling them they should die and the like.

Make sure your dog is trained to detect intruders and bark to alert you or disable them.

no, damn, no

they shouldn't be even temp banned

at max it deserves a chat restriction

you know, sticks and stones etc, it's just words, they shouldn't be violently punished

thinking of it, this country was proud about its freedom of speech back then, but nowadays it traded it to the idea that "the hateful speech is a crime cos it hurts my feelings". you know that soviet union had the freedom of speech too, on paper? we have it on paper nowadays as well, and not only in the usa

Completely agree on the permanent bann, death threats are absolutely not a joke.

On a side note wow. Just Woooooow. Just look at some of the comments. "Le lol le death threat is just a j0ke he won't do anything to you!11!!!!11!"... I didn't know that so much idiocy could even exist tbh.

Freedom of speech my a$$, try to go out and threat someone like you are doing in league and let's see what happens :^). Even if it's on the internet you can't really know if the death threat is real or not, everything is possible and as much as i know you could even be able to find out where i live and then do it for real. "Freedom" is valid as long as you don't hurt or limit the freedom of the others, which with a death threat you are clearly doing.

I agree with this but there has to be a line. For example, people occasionally write "kys <3" or something purely as a joke. Things like that shouldn't be bannable. However, actually telling someone that you will come to their house and kill them should be bannable.

Mig8911/7/2016, 4:08:51 PM3 votes

This is exactly how it is though. If you have proof someone said or did this, I am pretty confident thats what the punishment will be. Riot has a zero tolerance policy for hate speech or death threats. It may not happen right away as a member has to manually look at your ticket but they will get banned.

The Nami Goddess11/7/2016, 10:14:36 PM3 votes

it's actually pretty disgusting how many people think saying these kinds of things is ok. they're probably the ones who actually say this stuff and they're scared of the consequences they should be facing. saw a zed today tell someone he hopes they get raped by a homeless person and get aids. sadly a teammate actually backed up what the zed said. pretty despicable that people like this exist. hope rito agrees

should be permanent ban from league without a chance to reform.

While I support more severe punishments for players that commit more severe offenses (as of now, it seems like regardless of severity, everyone gets the same punishment, which is just wrong) not giving a player the chance to reform should NOT EVER occur for behavioral violations. A case can be made for instabanning accounts for cheating or perhaps even trolling, but you have no way of knowing what's going on for that person at the moment. Maybe they are actually a nice person and this was a singular slip up. Maybe they were just subject to intense trolling or verbal abuse and they are just on edge. Sure, making "kys" and other death-related statements is wrong, and should result in punishment, but unless you can determine a pattern of refusing to reform, a permanent ban for verbal abuse is straight up wrong.

Also, that news article you posted, I'm going to tell you right now to stop spreading false facts to support your claims. If you actually read the article, you will note that the medium in which he posted the "threat" was not League at all. The article title is Teen in jail for months over 'sarcastic' FACEBOOK threat. This was NOT an arrest because of something that occurred on LoL, and I believe Riot policy is to not report things like this to the authorities (if you submit a support ticket regarding matters such as this, they will actually tell you to take that responsibility for yourself if you feel truly threatened). Also, this kid was IN NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM attempting to explain ANYTHING of/pertaining to free speech. The kid made a sarcastic comment on Facebook regarding how "messed up in the head" he was, and Facebook's anti-terrorist protocols kicked in when someone reported the comment (I imagine there was a certain amount of automation in said process). The only part of this article even mentioning freedom of speech is a mention of a petition to release him stating that anti-terrorism are impeding the freedom of speech (which is highly debatable, as freedom of speech in no way gives you the right to threaten people). Bottom line, I really don't know why you are citing this story, it really doesn't support your claim at all.

Grow some balls dude it's a video game, and frankly, there is a MUTE BUTTON FOR A REASON. If u don't want to listen to it don't turn chat on. It's the same as if u don't want to listen to crqp going on in the world don't read the news. Also to my knowledges NO ONE has ever killed another dude based of lol. Period. So it stands to reason tha these threats indeed are idle.

Gusdel11/8/2016, 1:59:08 PM3 votes

Death threats over the internet are very empty. They don't know where you live. I never take them seriously.

ItsOrval11/8/2016, 2:56:15 PM2 votes

You are such a pussy lmao. Grow some balls. Nobody is going to kill you over the internet. Most kids are here are in fact that, kids, or mostly just skinny albino kids who are all talk no action.

I often say "I will wait for you with my baseball bat" and shrug it off. Back when I was a kid, CB radio was a thing and there are two things my parents told me: a) Never trust anyone b) Never give out any data.

This way you won't get in trouble. How can he get over to your house and why does he knows you got a dog? Don't feed the troll, mute him and move on. It's the internet anyways. It's a part of growing up, or do you have a secret problem of turn every little nonsense from a kid into an affair?

Typical 1st world problems from a U.S. kiddo.
