Is it even worth treading ranked different than normals

That's the real question. Below gold it litterly feels like normals are on a higher level than the actual ranked play. After a fell games I just didn't bother playing my best champions anymore. It was less frustrating to play.

Support games going like this:

  • On 18 minutes I was 5/0/17
  • Arround 19 minutes our midlane starts to 1v5, offcourse he thinks he's invincible because not only my adc will be fed when I play support.
    • Worse case scenerio he does this about 17 times.
  • Than the flame starts to happen
  • Than the remaining 3 members of the team are tired on waiting for the midlane deadtimer. It's boring they say. They start a 4v5. With enouge warning pings offcourse but they just want to start playing the game again.
    • This is useally the moment a tripple or quadra kill happends.

Now it start to go funny. I was bored and I noticed DrMundo was open. Never played it jungle before. I tell my team it's my first time mundo & the flame starts offcourse. I end up 0-2-0 pretty early in the game. So people give up and just play the game out. The game ended with me be 8/9/19 tanking 123k damage. A fell games later I got bored again and I played first time with the reworked Graves. I was 10-2-7 before 20 minutes.

Than a bored game later I play first time Rengar jungle. Even we didn't win that game because a item 3027 item 3116 Soraka support that didn't buy sightstone offcourse. Arround 2 minutes our botlane got dubble killed they roamed bot & kill the midlane. Than the toplane, than arround 4 minutes they serounded me with 5 people in the jungle. I farmed till 6 and got really fed from their botlane. In the end we got outscale but that happends. I ended 12-8-6 that game with the highest kill particiation in the game.

I was really supprised these games when like this. What I can tell for sure that you shouldn't be afraid to play ranked. It's just like any other normal game. Expect to win & lose games by luck under gold...

If it works for you. Just go in and play. I think mentally thinking its ranked and getting stresses might cause ppl to lose.

You should naturally play what ever you want to play in Normals; I always thought this was the thing to do. Ranked is about bringing your best to the table and hoping to triumph. Ranked has a sense of imminent danger can make players be really attentive or cautious. Without this, Normals can be a whacky experience as you say. Just remember that it's always okay to try something new.

I was thinking this thread was about the matchmaking in Normals. I can't say I've ever had acceptable matchmaking there - it's all been bizzarre in the sense that I get a random array of ranks in my games. I'm randomly put up against mid golds, platinums and the occasional Diamond. Earlier this year I found that playing Ranked against Silvers is much easier!
