I Quit. But... I thank you, too. All of you.

You probably don't know me, and if I'm honest you really shouldn't, but my last few games have just drove me over the edge of the cliff. I'm fucking done. I can't take the incredible amount of scapegoating, the incredible amount of ignorance, the incredible amount of complete bullshit in the matchmaking, anymore.

It quit being fun to have teammates who rage and flame, are more toxic than they ever accuse you of being in leu of "Oh plz report trash <whoever I'm playing> for being toxic!"

It quit being fun to be pit up against Golds/Diamonds/premades or to have them pit up against the other team; You don't learn anything from it, you only go "Oh I won" or "Why did I lose?!" in response.

I'm sorry, but I quit. Maybe for now, maybe forever.

Maybe someday you great people will drown out the stupid, toxic bullshit that infests this game to the core. I hope that day comes, but until then, I thank you. From the very depths of my soul and bottom of my heart, the tip of my tongue, thank you for making League better.

Someone posted something very similar not too long ago, and I feel like your sentiments are very similar, such that I think it'd be worth sharing here as well:

I feel ya, and I'm not just saying that to make you feel better.

If you look at my ranked matches on any of my accounts, you'll see an unusually high number of Teemo matches, all with the same build. When you mention that you become "too complacent with a winning strategy that [you] stop developing", I think that's where you have to approach how you view your playstyle from a different perspective. Although I play an atrocious amount of Frost Queens top lane Teemo, I don't see each match as more of the same. I look at and evaluate my opponent's champion, their build, their roams, their CSing and wave control, and their aggression. No opponent is the same, and with this, you can learn to solidify your mechanics, because, when it comes down to it, there's no such thing as perfection.

And if you want to get out of your comfort zone, play some normal matches and play a champion or role that you don't normally play. Recently, I've taken an interest in Caitlyn/ADC, and I'm working on figuring out how I can do better with her. I'm bad, and I understand I'm bad, but I'm working to learn with each game.

And if you're still deciding to quit League of Legends, this advice translates into the real world as well. There may be times where you feel that you aren't developing as a person, and when this happens, you can look at the little things and try to improve those, or you can escape your comfort zone and try something new like volunteering, traveling, or mentoring.

Never let yourself get in the way of your own growth.

Best of luck on whatever you decide, friend.

I'm sorry that you feel this way, I've felt the same in the past that the game just isn't as fun as I want it to be. Then I stopped playing ranked. Ranked has a toxic design to it that makes people toxic. You put 10 people (typically with raging hormones) in a competitive setting with everyone wanting to win (apart from the trolls). It's a recipe for disaster, video games are meant to be fun, why would you play it if you legitimately aren't having fun? My general advice, get some buddies together and just fuck around. A friend and I recently tried Orianna Yasuo bot lane and it was one of the most fun games of our lives. Focus on having fun rather than putting all your effort into winning.

I was there a few weeks ago and so I took a mini weeks break and came back to this game trying different styles and builds for fun in normals and the practice tool is a lot of fun as well. and now im back to ranked with a new main aswell and I focus on assists instead of kills. I main support now but not only in bot lane I try to support my team from every lane. let them have the kills who cares its a team game we all win its not like they win a little more than you do when victory appears on the screen.
