Public Apology to Cowsep and to the League Community

So, first, I would like to apologize directly to Cowsep for gross negligence on my part that reflected poorly on him when there was never any need for it and, arguably, I should have just went with a hypothetical scenario so as to not even have the POTENTIAL to drag anyone's name through the mud. You did not deserve this kind of attention and I hope you can find yourself forgiving me. If you choose not to, I fully understand with no questions asked, as you are far, FAR beyond the realm of being in your rights to deny me any such acceptance.

Secondly, I would like to apologize to the overall League community boards for bringing all of this up and trying to defend it without the appropriate knowledge of exactly just how badly I made things out to be. I only worsened relationships between players as I executed poor decisions in trying to both clarify what all happened as well as subsequent attempts at trying to figure out HOW these misunderstandings occurred.

I was too stupid and stubborn to see what should have been right in front of my face (and I imagine many were pointing right at it the entire time, wondering why I didn't seem to clue into any of it).

For the troubles, if you would also forgive my actions, I would deeply appreciate it. It's been a very trying experience for everyone involved and we really need to work past these issues, particularly me and my apparent lack of attention to initiating conversations in any beneficial manner.

After an infuriatingly long struggle to understand the intricacies of just how badly I screwed up conveying the message I had original intents for in my previous thread regarding how players can be so massively influenced by key figures, I neglected to bother reading the original post to the exact letter of which it was posted.

Nowhere in that body of text did I care to explain either the angle of first impressions and my initial story being told through what I felt the entire time and what I was thinking in the heat of the moment. It is also very important to note that the tone I took should never have been a consideration of how I wanted my message read, regardless of theme. Nor did I say ANYWHERE in that initial lump sum that I had left the stream before the conclusion of the game I referenced.

It does not matter the exact circumstances of timing, how things were very time-sensitive, and technically unfolded as they did. The fact remains is that I was WRONG about defending my initial post when it was simply me having made this information known through the comments section in various replies.

No one should be EXPECTED to wade through the ridiculous number of posts made following the thread's creation just to correct me on this.

I had believed this information to be upfront when it was not. I was so distracted and upset about accusations of lying when, from their point of view, it very well seemed to be lying. Just because it TECHNICALLY WASN'T lying doesn't change that I should have double-checked my initial post, regardless of how strongly I believed in what I KNOW I had written SOMEWHERE on some miscellaneous reply in the thread.

Thank you for your time and I hope, moving forward, this can be avoided.

I would now like to ask a moderator, if possible, to lock my thread as it is important to not simply will it out of existence as nothing can be learned from ignorance if the offending material cannot be analyzed for further review. If anything, I would love it, as embarrassing as it is, to leave it open to be read by the general public so that it serves as an example of just how badly miscommunication hampers our ability to have meaningful discussion.

I would rather be used as a point of a bad example than forgotten and assumed as a miscreant troll that wanted nothing more than ill-gained attention. If you feel differently upon your own reviews, do as you will. Until that inevitable conclusion is reached, I will not be touching the thread any further except to link this apology at the top for the sake of setting the record straight.

The best apology would have been admitting you made a mistake, letting it die, and not write these frankly pathetic, long-winded attempts at excusing yourself by citing "TWO SIDES BEING STUBBORN" and other many false equivalences you made. No, dude, you were in the wrong and rightfully called out for it. No, you didn't have an amazing point that got derailed by "pride". You smugly started a witch hunt, got nailed. You even had the audacity to call yourself "perhaps too analytical" as some sort of extenuating factor. Like seriously?

Just because it TECHNICALLY WASN'T lying

I disagree with this. The information you put forward was inaccurate, incomplete, and presented as fact. That's not telling the truth, and it felt like you had brought up evidence to support this claim: not everyone is held to the same standard in League. You negligently didn't look into the facts nor did you present any information that could be reviewed. We just kinda had to believe what you said. Sadly, a lot of people did.

This really highlights why there's a No Naming and Shaming policy (albeit, with exception to streamers): because we as non-Rioters don't possess all of the relevant information.

How were you wrong? Dude did a bad thing, you saw the bad thing and were disgusted by it and made a "wtf dude?" thread about it. I see no wrongdoing.

I watched the video and I see both sides as seeing no wrong. I think this Cowsep guy was jokingly mocking the lower elo playerbase but it's not like he REALLY thought they would lose. To him it would be very simple to end where he left off but they went for security in taking everything rather than the risk of going all or nothing. I think he does have an image to uphold for his viewers, and it's that "I'm a chill godlike dude" kind of persona. Moreover, what he said via live stream isn't a chat offense because he's on a different medium of communication. Thus the thread was never about him quitting, but rather what he said before quitting and during his time that he quit on live stream.
