riot employee has stated it is against the rules to ask other players to report someone, regardless of circumstances. including when they announce they will intentionally feed, and proceed to do so.

so im going to be reporting every single individual i see doing this. linking the above imgur in the report chat box, and when i dont see "your report has done something" messages frequently,
ill be back here to submit evidence of riot employees claiming one thing, and disregarding it.

i think the players have a right to know what riot's expectations are within their game. dont delete this riot, it is not in the wrong section. it is not against the rules of your website.

True, but simply asking for reports is considered pretty low on the negativity scale (you aren't going to be punished just for that). However, if you are throwing around accusations or using the threat of a report to harass or coerce them, that is going to be considered more severe.

regardless of circumstances

Threatening people with reports doesn't help anyone. More often than not you're just throwing more fuel on the fire. Instead of feeding into the negativity, you should just ask them to stop and otherwise not engage them.

It's very important to note that number of reports in a game doesn't matter. At all. Any number of reports will always trigger a review for that player's behavior, so asking for more reports is harmful (due to the added negativity as mentioned before) and there are zero positive benefits. This is why you should simply avoid doing this.

I get that you're upset over your punishment, but trying to get other people punished isn't going to help you. You should be trying to actually understand what you were punished for, which is not limited to what you are claiming it was. If you'd like to discuss your punishment here I recommend sharing your entire chat logs with us to review.

You're not going to. As I already said, simply asking for reports is alone not very negative. You won't get anyone punished unless they are regularly negative or are doing a lot more than asking for reports, the same way that you got punished.

it's just sad that we've gotten so used to this way of thinking.

Are you advocating that the community en-mass should change into a pile of trolls? It's the community that sets the standards. I think you're going to have a hard sell convincing the player-base that they must put up with harassment while they are playing a video game.

The title of your post was related to the behavior systems being broken. How would you suggest they be changed?

As expected, this forum is filled with nothing but Riot Games yes-men who can't think logically.

It's actually the opposite. Our behavior systems and norms and created/informed by the community. We simply enforce what the playerbase has taught our systems. For example, in Korea 'your mom' jokes are extremely bad, where in the U.S. it's just a joke. So these people on the forums are sharing THEIR opinions. They are not spouting off a stance Riot has created.

Everything above is a conversation from another thread, the quote parts are by Riot Tantram. Also; retaliation against someone else being toxic by being toxic or cursing at the person is not okay. Muting them and such is fine, but calling for reports and saying stuff like;

Liquid Dabs: stop ffs Liquid Dabs: shut the fuck up. u and maoki toxic af. Liquid Dabs: muted. Liquid Dabs: stop 1v3'ing plz Liquid Dabs: so youre inting now? Liquid Dabs: report maoki int feed and toxic. lucian just toxic Liquid Dabs: "stop 1v3'ing please"

...comes off as you mocking people, and name calling, and feeding into the toxicity. Also remember, you only get chat restricted or punished in general for repetitive behavior, so please be sure to try and be more positive in your games from now on! Like that Rioter said, repetitive behavior after this chat restriction can lead to a longer chat restriction, a 14 day suspension, and a permaban.

Please post your reform card / chat logs so we can have more context in order to better provide commentary on the why and the what of your chat restriction.
