This is my favorite game. It is equal parts saddening and infuriating when people who are clearly there to troll, and admit as much in chat, are allowed to ruin other people's games with no consequence.

Do you know how upsetting that is, when you have a game that you're ahead, and likely to win, gets thrown away by one player who decides that they want to screw it up for everyone? Has that ever happened to those with red names? The tilt is indescribable.

I've lost all faith in the report system. It's trivially gamed, appears to do nothing unless you use certain words (in my time playing, many a feeder or abusive chatter reported, never received one single popup), and the games are still a pool of toxic waste.

So thanks, Riot. Thanks for ruining my favorite thing by inaction. Thanks for ignoring the loudly, constantly repeated input that just maybe, people would like to see if those reports actually do anything.

People actually think they are trivally gaming the system, and then they suddenly get hit with a ban and go "WTFFFFF".

Then again, I don't blame you for feeling this way, the system sucks at letting you know that it has punished someone.

We're not talking about just garden variety tox though - this is willfully ruining games, and admitting it in chat.

And we both know that the feeding detection is about as precise as a drunk and blindfolded MasterYi unless they're painfully obviously running it up mid. You can play mostly normally and then throw when it counts the most and nobody will ever know about it. There's no way to differentiate that from just having a bad game or being low skill.

What galls me here is that this guy admitted it in chat. Any human that reviewed this game would know what to do in a heartbeat, but humans don't review games anymore.

They still do review games. It's slow and steady and not at the speed that the community wants it, but they still do manual reviews.

Of course, they won't tell you a thing even after they reviewed it.

There's also the question of "I say I am trolling, but is my gameplay really trolling?", which as you said, it's very hard to differentiate from a bad game.

How do you know if he got away without any consequences? IFS only pops up if you're the last person to send the report in. Other people may have reported him, and someone else might have gotten the pop up. And even then, sometimes the pop doesn't come.

Toxic players get what they deserve sooner or later.

That changed a while back. And as mentioned before, this was inting, not just toxicity. Unless chat bans are handed out for inting, the fact that he's still playing games tells me that no, he was not punished. Worse, he's going to continue on and do it again to some other unlucky group of 4 people until whatever automated nonsense is used here finally picks up on it.

I don't believe it has changed, since that's what I see majority of people saying here on the boards. And those people have more information than I do. The flaming would get him a chat ban, I can't speak to the inting punishment tier.

Yes the system sucks at catching people who are inting, but they do get punished, maybe just not as quickly as flamers.

A reason as to why him saying that he's trolling may have been over looked, is that often people use self-deprecation as a joke. I know for sure I've heard Bjergsen say on his stream out loud "I am TROLLING" when he does a very bad misplay. And I'm sure I've even said it in a game or two before. So the system might have not detected it as a threat. But I could be wrong about that, anyway it doesn't justify what he did.

I took a peek at his match history, and it looks like he played two more games where he did the same thing, and I haven't found any other games. So he might have gotten punished after playing those games. I'm at least hoping so.
