How reports work: An unofficial visual guide (old, but still relevant)

For the visual learners among us - this seemed a bit helpful the last time it was posted, which was a long while ago, so I'm posting it again in hopes that some misconceptions will be cleared up.

Important to note:

  • This is for chat offenses only. For stuff like inting or cheating, you go straight to the 14 day ban.

  • Literally nothing happens with invalid reports. They are not saved, or counted against you. If your entire team says they will report you, and you have no toxic chat or trolling ingame, you have absolutely nothing to fear. (They, however, do. Calling for reports is low-key toxicity and will be held against them.)

  • No real data exists to explain how honor growth is slowed and to what degree - but basically, if it takes you a long time to get out of low honor, it's because you're still getting reported validly. Note that honor processing happens "before" punishments are calculated. There is no indication that this is happening. However, Riot support will tell you if valid reports are slowing your honor progress, and historically have shared the problematic chatlogs. Open a ticket if you think this is happening to you.

  • If you got a 14 day ban, the next punishment you get, regardless of severity of the offense, will land you into permaban territory.

  • You are not told what your current "punishment level" is. If you got a 14 day ban, the "good job" message that pops up after a while refers to your honor, not your punishment level. If you try to game this system, you are flirting with the banhammer.

  • None of this applies if you are not reported. If you're in a custom game with friends you know and trust, you can freely say or do whatever you want. IFS isn't invoked until a report comes in. If you got punished in a custom game, someone reported you.

Is this really true? You go straight to 14 day ban with inting?
