Does it take a front page reddit thread to make this community realize that...

Leaver buster and the automated tribunal system aren't doing shit to prevent afks/rage quitters? Riot and the community need to realize that a machine is never going to be able to accurately judge this kind of behavior and a simple "20 minute ban" for afking twice in one day isnt doing shit. Many other online games will go as far as to gut your exp/ip in this case, give you an hour long or 5 hour long ban, or even ban you for the day. 5 20 minute waits added to the queue obviously hasnt helped with the fact that players are constantly leaving games because of poor sportsmanship and completely screwing other players over.

You can EXPECT to see at least one afk/ rage quitter within 5 games. If riot actually wants to improve the community, theyre going to need to bring back the old tribunal, and start dishing out some REAL PUNISHMENTS. I can catch up on fuckin anime while i wait for the leaver buster queues.

Just like perma banning toxic players doesn't reform them, harsher punishments won't achieve the results you think it will for ragequitters...

Overwatch has a system like you describe. It gives you an automatic loss, plus prevents you from playing another competitive match for some time.

I see more afks/leavers in Overwatch than I do in League. And games in Overwatch are relatively short compared to games of League.

I think that says something.

You are correct that the IFS does not interact with the leaver buster system.

Currently chronic rage quitters are banned through manual review, as Riot doesn't want to overly punish people on bad internet alone.
