What's worse: A nice guy who feeds and trolls or a mild jerkass that carries and always tries hard?

Title.

I don't stoop to homophobia or racism or even curse but am incredibly distressed at the rate I've started nevertheless belittling people for every fuckup based on just how bitter I am playing this game by default. If you look at my match history and general consistency, you can tell I never try anything less than my all when playing.

I like to compare myself to the people that comparatively are having very fun in my games typing memes in chat and laughing it up, all the while feeding their asses off or building inappropriately but allegedly not hostile.

I'm not really trying to justify my attitude but just wondering what really sounds worse.

Is the feeding/trolling done intentionally to ruin the game? If so they're both bad, 'cause that guy isn't a nice guy -- he's a jerk who is playing a nice guy for the camera.

Otherwise, speaking purely for myself (someone who plays League primarily for fun) I'd much prefer the player doing poorly or building something a little weird while having fun and being friendly. It's a game -- a bit of light-hearted conversation makes even losing fun, while an asshole makes even winning a frustrating and disheartening experience. I'd rather lose in a good mood than win in a bad mood.

The troll is always worse, but in my experience nice people don't troll, they may feed, they may be terrible at this game, but "trolling" implies a malicious intent.

Getting back to the original question though. I don't care about attitudes, words or feelings---that's all Dr. Phil bullshit, I care about winning games, to me that is all that matters. If you're a piece of garbage but you carry games, then I want you on my team 100% of the time, because I can mute the things that a piece of garbage says, there is not a button, checkbox or known menu option that stops players from being terrible and throwing games---even if it is not done intentionally.

Can't we just have a nice guy who carries and always tries hard even when things are grim?

The second one, obviously. This is a game, not a chat room. If you want to talk nice go to omegle or idk...

Here's my problem with your question: the 'nice guy' might feed, but it won't be intentional and he won't troll.

"Trolling", by any definition I'm aware of, is mutually exclusive with being "nice".

The question of "would you rather have a toxic teammate or a bad teammate" is a common one, but I remain unconvinced of its significance. Toxicity and being shit at the game often go hand-in-hand, and it's not like being toxic somehow helps somebody carry... so what's the point of the hypothetical?

Trolls are typically jerks, even if they aren't verbally hostile.

Bad players are typically not jerks, but they can get toxic due to frustration. They can sometimes learn on how to become better players if they aren't being flamed at.

Toxic people are just jerks.

All in all, I'll take a bad tilted player in my games, there is a chance that he'll get better with a tip or two. "Play safe" is not a tip of any significance.

We just all have to look deep inside and ask ourselves... What is technically a troll? Boop

Why are you limited to just those two choices? It's not like you feed because you're a nice guy nor does it mean that when you're an asshole because you are carrying.

It also doesn't make sense that you put "nice guy" with "trolling", since trolling would make them not be a nice guy.

Being an asshole and playing poorly are not mutually exclusive. People can be both or neither as well. Playing poorly unintentionally is something that's derived from their own skill level and the skill level of their opponent. Not something people can change on a dime.

Acting like an asshole is something that's 100% controllable by the player 100% of the time.

A nice guy who feeds and trolls

Even if you removed the trolling aspect I still would have gone for the other guy. The "nice" players in league freak me out
