Spam Pinging
We've all been in one of those games. "jg why are you doing red instead of ganking for me?" "hey you're being chased by the entire enemy team, this is obviously the best time to distract you from dodging skillshots by telling you there's enemies missing all around you" "you've pushed one of my many hair triggers and now i'm angry, but you've already muted me because i'm toxic so i'll do the one thing you can't mute". This is actually a really big problem, with really simple solutions. Here's a few:
> Mute pings button > Muting your entire team's pings creates another possibly bigger problem. I don't know how exactly Riot has the system set up, but if it's possible to block one person's pings similar to how we block one person's chat that would be great. Adding a second button to mute someone's pings would be ideal, but the scoreboard is a little cluttered already. Another option is to give the mute/unmute button a third 'mute all' toggle. Or if it's just too much, muting someone's ping as well as their chat interdependently is fine.
. >Lower the limit >Have you been in a game where you ping danger over and over and on the 4th time they finally disengage? No, that type of player just keeps going. We should simply lower the maximum amount of times you can ping within a window of time. If that might interfere with pro/high-ELO play, limit the number of each type of ping you can do with a max number of pings overall, ie 3 missings, 3 dangers, and a help and then you can't ping anymore.
. >Add it to the report system >The nuclear option, and I don't really like it myself but maybe i'm not looking from the right perspective. It can go with griefing and negative/passive chat. set up a system to determine whether a person is spam pinging or legit being helpful and then dish out punishment from there.
