Is it bad to dodge occasionally?

Some matches I get into the lobby and I can TELL someone is going to troll. So I'm wondering if its bad for your account to dodge a match when you KNOW your in a lobby with someone who's going to make it their life goal to loose this match. (I would like an answer for both normals and ranked) (also does it match you up with other people who frequently dodge if you do dodge occasionally?)

No, as a matter of fact, if you believe that it'll help you avoid a negative experience, by all means go for it.

The system will not match you with players who dodge more than what it already does. Do note however that increasing LP and Low Priority Queue punishments may apply based on how often you dodge matches and which queues you're dodging.

You'll incur a queue penalty, and if it's Ranked you'll lose some LP (in promo series it's a loss). Other than that there's really no repercussion; you do not get placed in a special queue with other dodgers or anything. If you feel that dodging and incurring the penalty is preferable to playing with a troll (or maybe something came up irl) then it's ok to do every once in awhile. Repeated dodges in a short period will get you increased penalties.

No I do it all the time makes my experience on the rift much more enjoyable and removes the " MID OR FEED " element from the game

Awesome, that relieving. I try to only dodge ever once in a while. Like if someone auto locks, they may be a ****, but I usually wont dodge. I'll only dodge those matches where 5 seconds into the lobby you know your going to loose.

No it's smart, even 10LP dodges are smart if you know you've got a troll. If someone is going a 38% winrate mid like Nidalee mid in Silver that's decent to dodge too. I'm not sure I'd 10 LP dodge Nidalee mid but it wouldn't be a bad play. Always dodge troll games, even if it's 10LP.

MMR > LP

If you want to dodge a game, go a troll pick and make other people want to dodge. So that they suffer the penalty instead of you. Then if no one does dodge just make sure to do it at the last second. Most of the time people will know your trying to force a dodge, but it does work sometimes.
