Ideas to improve behavior

The second post with this title. Featuring new and improved ideas. The purpose is to provide a platform to discuss ideas to while stockpiling them so we can pick the best to improve behavior.

Right now, their honor system is designed to maximize how addictive league is. It rewards at unexpected times and progress is hidden behind a scale that we can't measure. Unethical and ineffective. Should be fixed.

Honor leaderboards. It's like ranked but for honor. Each category has a different leaderboard. The leader is the person with the most honors per game, not total honors. You only show up on the leaderboard after reaching level 30. Along with this, riot shows everyone their honors per game stat for each category. Passing VISIBLE amounts of honor per game means you earn rewards like we do now when we get key fragments. Completely do away with honor levels. Now your honor is measured by your honors per game and separated by category, so you can see exactly what's good and what you could improve.

Thoughts? Post your own ideas as well if you have any.

Previous ideas: Inventive honorable chat by expanding a player's freedoms in chat. First, limit chat for everyone to a reasonable number. Every honor you get increases the number of messages you can send by one. If a person abuses chat, drop their message limit to the minimum and chat ban if they continue to abuse chat.

I agree with the incentivising the chat system. A reward, not a privilege. Everyone starts with limited chat from the beginning and in obtaining enough honor from both ally and enemy you are able to receive increased chat privileges.

Include a 2-tier honor system. One where you can say who deserves the honor for their playing skill and who deserves an honor for their chatting.

I find it a little ironic that you remark that the current Honor System is an unethical, gamified system...And then propose a leaderboard to gamify it even further.

An "Honor Leaderboard" would be a pretty bad idea for the same reason there's no such thing as an award for humility. Sportsmanship and humility aren't competitions to be won. They're behaviors and personal natures. You shouldn't be out to be "the single most honorable player in NA" - that whole idea on its own is ridiculous, but the side effects would generally be worse.

'Cause one of the easiest foreseeable outcomes of an "Honor Leaderboard" would be people begging for honors without trying to prove themselves deserving.

There is no fairness and justice anymore. If you speak out, you will be burned, permanently.

Good players who dont troll get permabanned for trying to get their bans appealed.
