Good Player Versus Bad Player

What makes a good player or a bad player? The answer is simple.

Do they treat other players with respect? If yes then they are a good player.

Do they taunt argue and insult everyone around them? If yes they are a bad player.

Good or Bad has nothing to do with your rank. You can be a good player in bronze and help make this game one that other players enjoy and want to come to play again by being friendly, helpful and encouraging.

On the flip side you can be a bad Diamond player that gets angry whenever someone disagrees with you and spend most of the game criticizing other players about how they should play and making those players want to quit playing this game.

You can be a bad player no matter how high in rank you are or how many flashy plays you can do. You can be a good player if you couldn't land a skill shot to save your soul.

Knowing every champion, item, build, power spike and counter does not make you a good player. Reading players and always making the right play doesn't make you a good player. Having a 12.5 KDA does not make you a good player. I do not care if you are ranked #1 in challenger. These things make you knowledgeable and/or skilled, not good. ** Being kind and enjoying the game makes you a good player.**

You see this the most in Ranked 5v's in my opinion. The difference of a team that supports each other vs a team that only argues is no comparison. My friends and I play a lot more normals than ranked so we stand at 3 silvers and 2 gold. We are stomping teams made of 2 dia, 2 plat, and a high gold. The entire time these teams we're facing are arguing in /all chat, meanwhile, we're busy talking and winning the game. Positive players will win over the negative ones.

I agree. People cant get any better at the game if someone is harrassing them the entire time or spamming so many pings that all you see is a bunch of blurred dots on the map.

Well, if we're talking the actually terms of good and bad into account, that jerkass player who just got a pentakill and helped us win is in fact good, but having to listen to his "This team FF, back hurts from carrying." is not worth it.

I know most people like to win, but it's a bit of a stale win when the guy who 'carried' you starts talking crap on the enemy team and acting like his own team was a huge burden. So, I suppose we agree on what is and isn't a good player after all.

What makes a good player? Do you mean they are good at playing the game or that they are a nice person? These are separate issues.
