Chat Banning Problems

I recently got chat restricted because I said that someone was bad at the game. Apparently saying this makes you get a chat restriction however when I report someone who typed in all caps saying that he was going to get his hands on me and he was going to slit my neck and kill my whole family the same way. I had put in a detailed report to the point I got to the word limit on reports and guess what. He didn't get chat restricted. This has happened with me where they said the same words as me when they were flaming me how I was bad at the game yet guess what they don't get banned? What is wrong with your report and banning system?

You do not always get notified of a punishment that was issued based on your report. In fact, you should only expect the notification about 10-20% of the time. The reason for not issuing a notification for all punishments is to prevent this exact type of "grave dancing" behavior where someone tries to determine if they're getting players punished or not.

That being said, it is never okay for you to flame or berate someone - regardless if they're flaming you first, regardless if they're playing bad.

Well first off it only gives you the player punished message if YOUR report was the one that sent them over the edge and made them receive punishment. This means they've either not been reported enough to receive punishment. You cannot be punished for one instance of negative behavior, the system does not work like that. You've been reported before and they've been in a reasonable time period of each other.

I agree that the chat banning system, especially the fact you can be permabanned for it when there's a mute option in game and they can just permachatban you, is broken. Should you be chat banned for calling someone bad at the game? Probably not. Should you be chat banned for excessively calling multiple people bad over a large number of games? Absolutely.

That person will be banned if they continue to act like that, rest assured, however just remember two wrongs don't make a right and if you get punished for putting down the spicy flame then take it like a man. This is coming from someone who has had their fair share of restrictions and bans.
