I don't believe my chat logs are punishable.

P.S. ____, the bully, is still running around playing without a punishment, and yet I get punished for asking for him to help me and stop making fun of me.

I've done a decent job behaving since I was punished a few months ago, because I don't want my account banned. I met an exceptionally toxic person who tilted me with insults and threats of reports, and I'm clearly upset. It's really upsetting I got punished due to this one single game, and due to this bully's one report.

I know its really frustrating to suddenly get a chat restriction, so hopefully I can shed some light on why this happened and help make sure it doesn't happen again.

I understand it might feel like nothing said here was a serious problem, but the chat in this log is primarily arguing with and criticizing other players. Because these things contribute to a bad experience for everyone in a game, they can lead to a chat restriction.

Though I absolutely get that other people's bad behavior can be really frustrating, our system doesn't choose sides and penalizes negativity whether its in response to others or not. I know this can feel unfair at first, but the reason it works this way is that firing back at other players doesn't do anything to stop them, and very often makes the situation worse. In these situations, your best option is to use the mute button, and report them after the match so we can track their behavior and penalize them if necessary.

Just so you know in the future, all a report does is cause the system to review a game. Any number of reports have this effect, so there's actually no need to ask other players to report someone, and being reported has no effect if you're not using chat negatively.

While I won't be able to remove this restriction or alter your honor, I'm here if you have any more questions and confident you can avoid additional penalties.

I'm just really upset that I reform, shut up, and behave for a few weeks since I unlocked my honor, and then this guy rallies my team to report me and belittle me. One game, it's all over, and I'm charged with unsportsmanlike conduct because I was upset with another person's bullying and I told him so. Now, my honor is locked up, I cannot communicate with people in ranked games, and this other guy is still playing, with his behavior justified with a lack of punishment and probably a message telling him that someone he reported got punished. Why did I even behave better for this entire month if Riot will take it away with a single game within which I didn't do anything toxic. I absorbed mental abuse from teammates and told him I felt bad and BOOM! I'm punished. Don't mind me asking for assistance in the game. Asking for assistance more than once, telling people you feel bad after they try to make you feel bad, and having a bad score gets you punished.

You are constantly arguing in this game. If others are being toxic, mute them. Don't add to the toxicity with negativity/arguing of your own.

I've never seen pregame chat before? Am I punished for saying the "S" word in Pre-Game? My in-game chat was not mean, it was not griefing, it was me talking to someone who called me bad names, was asking for everyone to report me, and gave me advice like "buy an ancient coin and hide under turret, stop dying," as well as "we won't gank for you because your lane is lost."

people are so quick to point the finger and try to deflect

there's a reason that you only see your chat lines when you get punished...it doesn't matter what ANYONE else in the game says or does, it's all about how you handle it

amazing how many people dont get that simple concept

You're lucky, what got me reported was calling him a toxic 'ancestor to humans' (ape) after being called every name in the book

You and I.. and millions of others are in the same boat. Bullying is not 'encouraged' per say in League of Legends.. but it is enabled. The fact is multiplied when you put premade bullying into the equation. This board is brimming with angry people and you know misery loves company. I've seen this same "advisor" on similar forum topics shooting them all down with the same response.

How someone so lacking in sympathy, empathy and integrity can maintain a position is repulsive. Victim blaming is a trend to displace accountability when it comes to forum moderators/advisors. They're not all this lacking.. but take a look at most recent post and more than half are hateful and spite the alleged violator.
