People would flame you, then threaten to report "refusing to communicate" when you didn't want to engage in toxicity

They removed it not because it’s not punishable, but because people were abusing it like you said.

Someone who never uses a ping/chat, and never types/reads chat can still be punished for refusing to participate in the team aspect of the game.

i had a really toxic mid go ape shit in all chat because i didnt respond to a question they asked about non game related stuff literary mid asked "what kind of lacy undies do you wear" and i just ignore them, near the end they are spamming 'report ...... no communication troll int feeder j;ah;phgg;h;g" etc type stuff and i just say "/all i didnt mute i just found no game related chat therefore no need to respond"

As I understand it, that option was just a placebo report option anyway. I don't think it was a real review-triggering report option to begin with and I definitely have never heard or seen anyone getting any kind of punishment for it.
