Man, this section of the forums is depressing.

So hey, last night I lost a narrow game. Wound up making friends with the enemy bot lane in post-game chat. Next thing I knew, I was in their discord and playing full AP support Bard in some crazy alcohol-fueled 5v5 custom match. I guess they all liked me, because now we're all friends and will surely play more fuckery matches together in the future.

When did the average League player stop thinking of this as a game? Last night I actually met cool people, but that almost never happens any more. People just want an excuse to get angry and blame somebody. It's sad, really.

Everybody, do yourself a favor and try to have a little fun in this game. For yourselves. Please.

Hey man I'm glad you had a positive experience. That's awesome, and frankly, the part of League that I really miss. Pretty much all the people I started playing League with originally have moved on to other games or other things in life so i find myself solo queuing ranked mostly. These games, however, feel like a chore. They are so stressful that it feels a lot less like a game. I was just in a ranked match where I missed a stun to peel and was berated for being 'trash'.

I constantly see people talk to each other as if they forgot there is another human sitting on the other side. Telling someone to kill themselves because they messed up or misplayed is just appalling and if you do this you might need to reevaluate why you are playing this game in the first place. When did it become ok to call someone autistic? I don't know, this community feels more and more devoid of empathy the longer I play. I just wanna have some fun and forget about the stresses of everyday life when I play. Probably wont be going back to ranked anytime soon.

This helps me feel less depressed coming here.

This is the philosophy behind about 90% of my posts on this forum (when I'm not helping someone figure out why they were banned). 100% agreed.

Play to improve, play to meet cool players, play to create a good team environment, and play to have fun. League's MMR system will try to match you with players of your skill, which should create about a 50% win rate. If you only have fun if you're winning, this WILL make for a bad experience for you. :)

it's a game when you're playing with all friends

it's a competition when otherwise XD

Congrats on your positive experience. Hopefully more people can find similar success.

you cant have this kind of fun every match . as you start playing good the matches get tougher and things get very serious . so ap bard supports wont work and you have to play the right champ for the right role or you will end up feeding . these days as soon as you start having that kind of fun they give you tougher matches and you will lose badly so its not all fun when others blame you for the loss because you tried to play it for fun . these kind of fun matches happen only once in a 50 matches .i wish we could have more fun in this game . whenever the enemy team has a fed yasuo or yi it wont be fun anymore . EDIT : plus it depends on the composition if the enemy team has more cc and more fighter champs then you guys are done its GG WP .

They do try and achieve that, but everyone has conflicting interests.

For starters, if you're goal is the common goal of winning promos and climbing ranks, you will have conflicts with other people doing that.

Obviously, one team will lose, one team will win. As a result of not getting what they want to have fun, the person on the losing team won't have fun. And, when you don't have fun in a videogame, you get frustrated.

Yeah, Personally I don't play ranked due to not being a competitive person. I've made friends with so many people on the enemy team and I enjoy it(shame though, I sometimes break off connection with them on accident)

I know the feeling OP. Im a season 3 veteran, and everyone now is just tryhards and trolls. I've been a jg main for the past 4 seasons, so i dont really notice, but very few of my laner friends play anymore, unless its to work to get gold. I miss the good old days, when i could play stupid stuff like Lux jg and no one cared
