I had a game earlier where our Skarner got killed by Morde ult, and then walked down mid to kill his own ghost at our inhib tower. I wanted to say "KYS skarner" as a joke, but I stopped short because I know that it's some kind of trigger for punishments. Would I have been punished in this case had I gone with my gut? Is there any contextual information available to the system when it reviews a report?
I personally think this would've been hilarious, and I can recognize that there was no ill intent in what you wanted to say.
That being said I don't think the system really cares about context. 'Suicide is never a joke' is the mentality they take, I believe. I don't advocate joking about suicide, but what you proposed to say wasn't really related to that topic. 'KYS' typically is associated with suicide though so that's what the system would've assumed you meant. Most people don't have a doppelganger they can kill. :p

as far as words or phrases like this. Zero Tolerance words and phrases are ban on sight by the IFS so far as I know regardless of context as it's believed there is no place in League for stuff like this.

Drink bleac* and KYS, or I hope you die of Can***, or even KYS, you are a waste of air, or Kill Yourself IRL.
^ These are toxic, telling someone to kill themselves in game to avoid giving the enemy a death isn't cases like this should be reviewed before a ban if the simple Kill Yourself, or KYS is used without other toxicity.

Agreed. There are situations where it would be the best option strategically for your teammates to kill themselves.
Why would you even want to say it that way anyway? That's kind of ambiguous. I'd have gone with something more along the lines of "ha, its kind of like you're killing yourself when you attack your ghost" but then again, I've always been a bit wordier than others when I actually choose to use my keyboard. Usually I just stick to emotes and pings, tho.
