I posted one of these yesterday and I'm just a little impatient right now, fix matchmaking; I'm sick and tired of being stomped by obnoxious high elo players. I CANT REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I HAD FUN IN A GAME, just fucking diamond %%%%s in every game I play and I play in a 5 man premade so we're all gold and 1 unranked yet the enemy team always has 2-3 diamond players or above. I just want to play the game for fun and it's becoming the exact opposite of this.

You are gold only in ranked. Not in normal. They are diamond in ranked. Ranked has nothing to do with normals. Its just casual mode.

Like he said, normal MMR and Ranked MMR are differents.

explain how prior to playing ranked every player gets placed into a different rank? some plat,silver etc? and before you say " from last season's rank" I said PRIOR to playing ranked, meaning ZERO ranked games played.

What determines your rank? YOUR HIDDEN NORMALS MMR

If thats not true, then how come you can play draft "for more accurate" MMR matches? If "casual" game modes have no correlation to rank, how come we get paired vs roughly the same ranks 4/5 games??

No. You start with silver MMR, i think it was arround 1400 or 1200. You start with silver as its actually lowest ranked tier (Bronze is equivalent to - "hey at least he participated"- hence no borders). Your placement matches decide where exactly are you gonna be placed. Your MMR gain is determined on your opponents MMR, if you win against teams with higher overall MMR, you gain more MMR, thats why some people get placed in gold after 8:2 and some in silver. Normal has no effect on ranked, ranked has no effect on normal.

Blind pick, or TeamBuilder? I've noticed when running as a premade in blind pick, it's far more likely we get overmatched and have a miserable game compared to doing a full premade in teambuilder.

Yeah normal mmr is seperate from Ranked mmr. Personally I am a plat player who never play normal seriously, I have almost exact 50% win ratio at normal, for like 1250+ games.(like 1254/1252), and I'm often teamed with gold/silver players in normal. So I can say they are probably diamonds who play causally in normal and actually lost a lot there.

orrrrrrr you win a lot in normal, but anyway your behavior in normal should be pretty much close to theirs, that's why you are placed together. Normal only look at normal mmr, it has nothing to do with rank

On the bright side, if you win you'll get a ton of LP. Also, it means your MMR is diamond level. Or are you still on placements?

I'm not still in placements, I climbed to gold back in may and stopped there, I play rank every now and again to prevent decay or whatever but over the past few months of playing with my premade, the elo of the enemy team has just continued to rise and we're only playing normals, it's been fun in the past and yeah I've learnt things from it like once we came across diamondproxs' duo que partner who's in masters and we got stomped and we laughed about it but recently...lets say the past month and a half...maybe longer there's just been a constant rise in the amount of diamond elo players in our games and a huge majority of them just set out to make the game as toxic and unfun as it can be. I don't play ranked to climb, I just do it to get to gold for the skin; I don't understand how matchmaking works but we play a lot of normal games, what's the correlation?

Your normal MMR has risen to that level.
