What I learned from chat restriction(s)

I'm going to say «/sarcasm» now because most people will probably be dumb enough to believe what i'm going to say :

first of all : Trolls are always right no matter what, if you respond to their douchebaggery, you are the wrong one and you deserve the chat ban , trolls run free so they can keep ruining other games.

second : do not speak to people, being communicative with your teamates is bad and contributes to toxiness. If your teamates harrasse you, Remember! Do not respond back, or else you are the wrong one and you will get punish!

Ok now for the serious part :

Riot doesn't seems to actually look at the context of the «insults» or offensive language. If we do an invade, and we fail, and I say «10/10 invade gg noobs report» and then, you look at the other responses of the other players, and it's nothing negative and all laughing and fun, then i don't undestand how this is «Negative attitude».

Second, i do not understand how natural responses to someone trolling like : «shut up, stfu, stop trolling», ( do not use «kill urself %%%», just a tip) as a response) are bannable offenses. I knew Tribunal was bad but at this point...really?

The funny part is that Trolls can run away freely and go ruin other people's games without any punishement

Note* Please take in account that the harsh words were in respond to trolls. I would never, ever, go and harrasse people for any reason, so shouldnt you.

Unlike the rest of the country (and world at large) Riot Games doesn't believe that context is important. If you say bad words it means that you are a toxic person and they don't want you playing their game. There is never any justification for directing any form of anger towards another person. In this way the game mirrors real life, where any outward form of anger is socially unacceptable. In real life, any person who lashes out at another person is toxic. Even if that person they lashed out at had raped and murdered their mother, society still views this as unacceptable.

Wait...you mean society actually is okay with lashing out at rapists and murderers? You mean it IS understandable? So Riot games is WRONG about context not mattering?

Hey you...Stop being so over-dramatic. Players in this game aren't raping or murdering your family. At worst they are trolling you, berating you, egging you on, criticizing you, calling you names or bullying you--all perfectly acceptable things to do in society, and all things that no one should ever display anger over. Just learn to walk away and tattle on them. That's what civilized people do.

Oh...you mean civilized people don't fight back or show any backbone whatsoever? You mean they act like little girls? Oh...okay.

I get tired of people thinking they are entitled to belittle and bully other people over a game on the internet, is your skin so thin that you have to reply to any Jerk that says something,

With all the people complaining about their punishments I'd say Riot is at least making some headway. No we will never get all obnoxious Jerks to adhere to the rules but Riot can and is trying to.

From the Tribunal FAQ:

That player in my game was far worse than me. Why am I banned??? I'll keep this one simple: those other players in your game that you thought were worse are probably also banned. Nearly 100% of the time, those players were banned even before you were. If someone is being toxic, just report them and move on.

We strongly believe that it is not OK to retaliate. If a player refuses to cooperate and says something negative, then players should ignore the player and report them after the game. Players can ignore or mute players by pressing the “Mute” button on the Scoreboard [when you hit TAB] in the game.

If a player retaliates and says something bad back, then the two of you have made a negative experience for potentially the other 8 players in the game. Rarely do teams start working together better when players begin fighting back—great games only happen when players cooperate and don’t make the issues even worse by fighting back and forth.

What's the point of having a language filter if I can get banned for 'adult' language? We aren't out to punish players who use adult language; in fact, very few players are ever banned for saying stuff like "f***, I missed that skill shot" or "damn, fing close game!" However, the language filter is not an excuse to verbally abuse someone in the game. When you verbally abuse or harass someone by calling them "fing *****" or "ngger noob", that's when you've crossed the line and will be punished by the Tribunal. I've said this before and I'll say it again, we aren't trying to clean online games of adult language; we're trying to reform or get rid of jerks who like to verbally abuse and harass other players.

Why is verbal abuse punishable if there is a mute button/language filter? Players shouldn’t need to rely on features like the mute button or language filter to engage with other players in positive ways. When a player verbally abuses another player and forces him to use the mute button, they have already created a negative experience for that player.
