Ranked Flex+Reporting

So, quick little story. I recently joined a ranked flex queue. Upon entering the champion select screen and getting my favorite role of adc, we were prompted to ban a champion. I made the personal decision to use my ban on no one. This was followed by the support questioning me immediately. "why did you ban no one?" I replied that I sometimes ban Trist but tbh if i ban her all the time I will never become truly efficient at playing against her. He replied that I should've just banned someone else then. I replied "why? I can improve more by playing against all matchups". He said to go to normals to practice (I completely understand that concept) But I told him "it's not practice, but I believe there is no point of playing a competetive game if you aren't constantly improving." (which i truly believe, whether he agrees with it or not.) He continued to say... "well, with an ADC like that, I know what I'm doing this game...."(pretty obvious what this is implying) as they proceed to hover over master yi, yasuo, lee sin, and a bunch of other obviously very "trolly" support picks before finally locking in Diana support.

Now, I'm not one to judge based on "meta picks." Just the game before I defended a top lane Ori I had never played with before, saying that people should allow people to play before judging their picks (she actually ended up doing really well lol). The problem here though, was the series of events that led up to a lvl 1 diana afking for first 2-3 minutes, coming back and charging into a lvl 2 bottom lane immediately dying. 10 minutes later she had accumulated 11 deaths. This wasn't the first time I've experienced this, and have come to somewhat "be prepared" for it in the league community.

Though the issue for me was that when I said in all chat "please report our Diana, she even stated before game she was going to feed because i chose to ban no one", our mid laner says in all chat "please report jinx, extremely toxic" (I was jinx), the jungler says "report jinx for inting." I'm sitting there like... wait, support diana has died 11 times in 13 minutes being afk the first 2, I have least deaths on team and most farm, while in a rigged lane, and I'm being threatened to be reported for inting and being toxic? Low and behold, I enter my next game, and I have a chat ban and a warning... probably reported by all 4 of my teammates that were all in a party.

Idk the solution, but that should never happen.

Normally chat restrictions don't trigger if you didn't say anything during the game chat. It's best not to say anything in general when there's a negative feeling. The only thing you want to involve yourself is the effort of winning the game. Teamworking with your team is the best key to avoid any restriction or bans. Also, avoid debating, conversion, or arguing with your team if there's an ongoing disagreement. Avoid anything that would cause a negative reaction. Just so it doesn't end up biting you back. They can't report you if you mute them, or don't reply to anything they say in the chat. They can try, but it'd do them no good. You'll be fine if you follow these guidelines.

Post chat logs, riot does not ban accounts because 4 people report. The system doesn't work by mob rule that would be too easy to abuse. Without your chat logs it's just your word against their actions. Getting trolled is no reason to verbally abuse people as junk as it is. If you read these forums often you'll find cases like yours all over.

Post logs of what caused the chat ban. Sorry for your trolls it happens don't speak to them tho best to mute trolls u can't fix them they are stupid.

@NegativityLL @ZombieGerbil Both really good advice, that I think honestly deep down. I know. lol. Sometimes it just gets really frustrating, I've been doing really good lately, not gonna lie this game definitely got to me more than some others. But either way, muting and just playing seems like the best option. And @NegativityLL I actually didn't know there wasn't a mob rule on that, I'm really glad to hear that. So in future I will try to just shut up and take it then report them after game.

multiple reports within a game get treated the same way as one report. All it does is flag the system to check for toxicity, and the answer is a yes / no answer. More reports point to the same answer and does not accelerate the chances of someone getting punished.

Also, the system has the capability to validate the reports, if you did nothing wrong, the system will toss that report away.

For you to get a chat restriction, it means that you have a history of toxic behavior, even if it is minor toxicity.

Post your chat logs here, and we'll be able to dissect your logs and tell you what went wrong.

@Kei143 I mean, based on responses I have gotten so far, I know what I did wrong. I used two curse words later in the match after I found out my team was basically teaming up on me, and said that it was bronze logic to completely troll your team based on the fact that someone chose to not ban anyone.

So if the system works by seeing a report then searching for "key words" then yea, i can definitely understand where it came from. I don't expect the tribunal to sit and watch every game, but I do wish some context was taken. I should've just muted Diana immediately, and the rest of the team the moment I realized they were 4 grouped. And will be doing that in the future.
