It generally helps not having a bad reputation of personally attacking other posters to get the initial visibility.
Once a thread has reached a certain + number, it enters the 1st page when someone is at the boards home under the "hot" filter.

Hello. This thread is being locked rather than deleted because everyone should understand exactly what is happening here. Personal attacks are not allowed on the board, nor are comments intended to provoke, insult or harass. "RBSC" or "Rito Butt Slappers Club" has always clearly been intended as such.
Similarly, there is no room for accusations that comments or votes are part of some shadowy conspiracy of shills or sock puppets. Anyone who posts in a confrontational tone must understand that people can downvote them on that basis alone.
PB&M can be better than this. It has to be.
When a Rioter commented on the nunu support with smite case he got a whopping 500+ downvotes. Maybe it's in the articulation of ideas?

And yes, if a Rioter would make a thread that simply said "Poop". It would get a lot of upvotes, because thats adorable. Given thats it's a very childish thing to do for the representive of a company. In a good way.
