wtf is the point of chat restrict aside from preventing you from coordinating and cause frustration?

Ichibiri·12/16/2017, 4:32:44 AM·1 votes·958 views

Like wtf does it accomplish? It just the game saying you can't talk and watch all your garbo team mates make horrible mistakes while you have to sit there and accept the loss without question.

What sucks is the fact that when you try to help these brain dead kids play better they cry and call it toxic when in reality you are telling them the harsh truth that they suck dick and need to get their act together. Yet this game wants to please its player base and so it limits freedom of expression for money.

Which makes it even more frustrating because now you are sitting there losing games because you got paired with trash teammates and then you get punished for criticizing their actions. This is why this game needs to die.

well first off... giving someone advice/making calls is a good thing. thinking that they have to do as you say or trying to force them to do as you say is not good anymore. its a rulebreak.

i think the point of chatrestrictions is at first maybe trying to teach you that you dont need the chat that much. you dont even need pings. they are just nice tools to help you out. and 2.nd i think CR also is supposed to be like a gentle slap in your face saying "HEY! if you dont stop, you will be permabanned soon".

i myself think the 25 games cr should be replaced by a 24 or 48 hour ban.

If you get to the point that you got Chat Restricted, I highly doubt you have much "coordinating" that anyone on your team would respect to follow anyway.

Don't be a dick, don't get restricted. Easy.

As for strategic communication, I can't comment much since I've never had a restriction and don't really know how much it restricts you by. But I'd have to assume that, between pings and a few sentences, you'll be able to call the shots you need.

I'd rather have perma chat restrict than a perma ban.

chances are you won't have much good to say anyways even if you weren't chat restricted.

I've gotten Shotcaller plenty of times, and I'm probably one of the least verbal players.

I've never had a punishment, but I think it could be interesting to play with the restrictions active to see if I even notice having it. (And no, I have no desire to actively sabotage my account just to experiment with the ban system)

The chat restriction is there to inform you that you have been using chat inappropriately.

If people are reporting you for criticizing their play, then maybe you should look at it a different way. They are in fact criticizing your ability to offer advice. You should learn how to offer advice without alienating your audience.

Hey Ichibiri,

I have removed offensive portions of your post. While it's understandable to be frustrated, it's important to remember that there are right and wrong ways to express that frustration.

The Chat Restriction is there to serve as a heads-up that your behavior towards other players isn't tolerable, and also to show you that you don't need a lot in the way of using the chat pane to communicate properly.

Judging by your choice of words in this post, I'm going to guess that you think you're a leader when in fact you're just a domineering elitist who doesn't care to show restraint or respect.

You can tell a player they're performing poorly without being needlessly crass or dickish about it. But, if you keep thinking that all your teammates are "brain dead kids", then odds are you're just going to keep spewing filth and hate that you call "shot calling" and get yourself banned.

Nobody has to see the CRed brat run their mouth endlessly, which is a massive benefit to coordination.

I am sure the CRed brat always thinks it has something important to say, thus the CR.

If someone cant use chat without flaming their team, they need to be removed from the game permanently. It is a warning to them to shape up their behavior.

I am offended that you use "suck dick" negatively! Not only is it fun, it brings pleasure to another...

That aside, you can offer constructive criticism but, as you are free to do so, they are free to ignore it. You need not harass someone all game, as they likely are not listening nor has that ever made someone play better. In fact, that is likely to tilt them and make it worse. The chat restrict is a slap on the wrists to enlighten you that the community deems your behavior unacceptable.

You can still communicate effectively while in a chat restriction, and ping others too. With less typing, you can also more easily observe good and bad chat.

Deathbypie12/16/2017, 9:03:36 PM1 votes

I believe the point is to restrict your chat.
