Can we please have an option to mute Item pings or disable them altogether?

What League needs is a cleansing week or something... turn off pings except for the traditional pings and let the community just mellow out cos yeh everything thats introduced lately just becomes a thing for toxic people to abuse... Emote spam item pings im alive ping ....
Hey you, people have a right to know when I have stealth wards, control wards, Locket, and Salvation ready as well as Ardent Censer built.
But ya, pinging tear could be damn annoying. And ping spamming can be damn annoying. Do you feel like its risks/negativity outweigh the benefits of "I have 3 control wards, Locket, and Mikael's ready?"
That's kind of why I said "Option"
Pinging your own items is never a problem. It's jackass teammates that relentlessly spam the item ping on a teammate's build with no way of stopping it that's really annoying.
I believe we need to know who the person pinging the item is, so if the ability is misused, we can ping mute them and potentially also report them for harassment. (IFS most likely does not detect ping spamming though - another improvement for Riot that they should implement.)
