How are you supposed to call a teammate out for being wrong

....if anything that ends up being even the slightest bit controversial gets flagged as toxic?

Hellarchy: oh god dont be like my janna last game names ******** who inted and ulted minion waves away from me

-Talking about the last game where I had a Janna with a similar name who inted, because my Janna said "GG" at like 4 minutes into the game.

Hellarchy: will you all stop Hellarchy: and just play Hellarchy: and be cool Hellarchy: ?

-Asking them to stop flaming eachother so early on in the game

Hellarchy: random much?

-This was toward the enemy team who had 3 waiting in a bush for me, not toward my own team

Hellarchy: why? Hellarchy: this game is going all according to my plans

-This was toward my skarner, who said "I'm just going to afk"

Hellarchy: execpt that Hellarchy: i didnt plan that

-I got caught right after saying the game was going according to my plans lol

Hellarchy: you know it woulda made more sense to back off and get a free infernal right?

-After I pinged infernal and my team wanted to go for mid inhib instead so I followed them

Hellarchy: oh okay sure i followed you guys mid Hellarchy: but w/e

-Skarner says I was the one who wanted to push mid, okay, w/e

Hellarchy: seriously?

-Skarner spam pinged to do Baron; So I was like okay, so I went to baron and we started it up, then Skarner spam pinged OFF baron saying he didn't have smite up for 45 seconds. I was just like... Seriously?

Hellarchy: yeah let them have tower who cares

-Telling my team not to contest a tower in bot lane

Hellarchy: our team is melting like butter idk why

-Observing how fast we all died in a team fight

-Skarner went to split push bot when enemy team went for baron; We could only contest if Skarner joined us and smited it. It is worth noting that at one point in the game, the enemy team had already stolen an infernal dragon from us and Skarner was there and still had smite up, just didn't use it. I didn't even comment on that.

-He called me an idiot first, mind you, for not splitting bot with him while the enemy was doing baron (lol) and at that point his score was 1/8 which I decided to call attention to so that maybe he would humble himself and start listening

-Trying to make him understand that the jungler needs to be there when contesting objectives... smh

-Basically just speaking the truth.

Come on now, how am I supposed to even talk to people in this game if I have to constantly be nothing but roses and sunshine to the most toxic players to walk the earth? I think ya'll need to look at context a little more.

You can point out when someone is wrong but you don't have to flame and harass someone when they do something wrong.

Here's where you went wrong.

First, rule of league chat. You are judged on what you say, not on what others say.

Just because someone isn't doing well, doesn't mean you have to harass them about it. You tried kicking him down a peg but people don't respond well to that. It may make you feel better and superior to them but unless the person views you as an authority figure, good luck trying to make them respect your opinion, especially when you're being condescending and insulting to them. They're going to respect your opinion even less and they'll never listen to you.

As you can see, you being condescending and insulting to him didn't help your situation at all. He didn't respect your opinion and doesn't care to listen to your advice. The Skarner doesn't respect you as a person so that's why Skarner tried to disrespect you here by calling you out on dying while typing.

It's a cycle. You don't respect him, he doesn't respect you... and it goes back and forth over and over again.... like below

Remember the first rule of league chat? You're just flaming and harassing him at this point. This is why you got punished. Regardless of what Skarner said or did, you flamed him. It got this way because you fostered an environment of discord and let yourself go down that spiral and end in flaming and harassing your teammates.

You can point out things by saying things like "we shouldn't have tried to stay and get baron, we should have left baron and gone for the team fight, won, then come back for baron." You're pointing out what went wrong but you're offering your knowledge to show what should have happened to win the fight. You're more likely going to be seen as a knowledgeable party and may garner more respect so that they may follow your lead in future plays in that game.

If you knock people down, you may be the only one standing but that doesn't make you a leader.

That's the logic of a 5 year old. "But he hit me first". No, it doesn't matter. It's your trial, and you are responsible for your own words.

Saying things like "You shouldn't push up so far without vision. It makes you easy to gank." instead of (as an example) "wtf noob just buy some fucking wards "We need you to be grouped with team for objectives Skarner." instead of "this skarner bronze 1/8 trying to tell us what to do" "I need a gank, I've been getting camped really hard" instead of "you are the most worthless jungler to walk the face of the earth"

I let them know 1 time that their play was a bad idea, if they continuously make bad plays, then I just ignore them and do the best play I can make alone. At high bronze / low silver, I can still stall the game with proper wave management.

But at that point, I've mentally accepted the loss so if they make more bad plays, I won't worry too much about it loosing me the game.

See, my thing is, I've been playing this game for over 6 years, and I haven't been getting MORE toxic, I've been getting LESS toxic; yeah, the more games that I have played, the more I have deescalated my toxicity. I have pretty thick skin, or you can call it being jaded, whatever, so in general I'm the glue trying to hold my teams together as a cohesive unit. I only let myself verbally lose my cool after the game is already lost and I've done everything I can.

Anyway, my point is, I've gotten LESS toxic as the years have gone on, but I've gotten MORE chat restrictions. Just how much more strict have you gotten? You might as well just give me an option to disable chat altogether then, because I don't want my account getting banned because I can't communicate with these apes.

Say it more creatively. Find less scathing synonyms for what you want to say. Words that aren't picked up by the autofilter and aren't usually construed as malicious. That's what I do when some guy starts ripping a teammate.
