Banning to prevent team mates pick

Has anyone seen this or encountered this in the new game lobby yet? You see your team mate use the new system to call out that they want to play.... lets say or Teemo bot or Yasuo top or Urgot anywhere or something, and one of the people in banning position sees an opportunity.

"I don't have to dodge, I just have to ban the champ my team mate wanted to play!"

I'm not encouraging this behavior, (Even if they want to do something even more off meta than examples I provided. I personally like off meta stuff though I save it for normals more often than not.) I'm just curious if I'm the only one whose realized the possibility and implications of people doing this.

Yeah i'm sorry but if you hover Jhin i'm banning it. Then i hover Illaoi so if they get salty and try to ban me back, i get the champion i wanted banned out of the game.

I had this happen three champion selects in a row. First time because i didnt give the guy jungle, when he got queued into bot lane. He banned who i was going to play as my one and only match of the night (Fiddlesticks) so i went shaco and snowballed top and bot anyways.

Second and third time was a guy banning Shaco because i had it champ previewed as Shaco top and he asked me to pick someone else, even though we already had two people planning to be tanks. So because i asked why he just outright banned shaco and said he didnt want a 'runaround/troll toplane' even though its not my first time playing the champion whos third highest in mastery out of all my champs.

Someone dodged that match because i told him i was going to annoy him because of what he did. and i requeued after waiting a few seconds, i get in champ select with the same guy, he instantly notices me and bans shaco even though this time i got jungle, and was actually planning to go fiddlesticks jungle like i wanted to do for the first match.

He ended up feeding with his troll buddies in bot and mid lane. And now i wish i could punch this guy in the face, because not only did he piss me off by banning my first game because he didnt think shaco top would work, but he got completely steam-rolled in bot lane.

They need to do something about people banning champions out of spite or trolling just because of someone previewing it in their selection.

Its a legitimate move depending on pick order and the strength of the champion. If its a strong champion that you think the other team will pick first, yeah. Ban it. If its a weak one that you know has a lot of issues on your side, yeah ban it. If I have a team member that's picking last and wants a Graves or Malphite then I would be tempted to just ban it to keep it out of the enemy team's hand.

Yes, some people may do it out of spite or to troll, but they only get one ban. I normally have at least two to three options in mind when I'm queuing up in case I can't get who I want. It makes it harder to plan a team comp or determine your strategy in the select screen, but you could always just not select one until you're actually picking.
