Picture this.
Your loading process malfunctions, so you end up getting into the game 7 minutes late. You ask for a little free space to breathe, but the enemy team starts hunting you. If you even enter EXPERIENCE RANGE, you get dived and murdered. You can't farm, and you can't go to other lanes, as you'll be hunted. And even if you try and do ANYTHING, you'll be called a feeder (they won't believe your "having a bad game" defense).
AND YOU STILL CANNOT LEAVE?!
Leaving is not an excuse in any case. A little over a year ago, I had issues with lag, disconnects, and loading. ISP sucked so I played off my phones wifi, but that's beside the point. I learned that you can't stop people from abusing you if you're far behind. When I got in, I apologized to my team, and told them that I was going to mute them long enough to focus and catch back up. Riots system does work well enough to at least get you back into contention with the rest of your team.
Leaving is not acceptable in any case though.
