People who autolock in blind pick

It is very unfair when you call a role first and someone else autolocks. This isn't a rant about They took mid therefore we lost. I could play other roles. But I wanted to play mid and have fun with a champion. I wasn't playing to get a win. Now I have to wait 5 minutes because someone else stole my role from me. I feel like autolockers should get a penalty unless queued up with 3 or more (Because if a 5 man autolocks then its most likely they knew where they were going b4 game.)

It's very well established that the typing of a role is how one calls it in Blind. Allowing for multiple methods of calling a role just invites confusion and frustration, as evidenced here. Plus, most champs can play different roles, so locking as a means of calling a role is incredibly vague. Don't rock the boat.

Imo both are douchebag moves. It does not matter if you lock or call, the end result is the same: multiple people arguing like two year olds over their lane.

How do you propose we pick roles in Blind, if not with lane calls?

You can call lanes, the other players can choose to honor the unwritten code or not.

Thats why I call a lane, pick my champ but not lock him in. If I get an autolocker I can just fill a position.

You could always duo mid, its a FFA in blind pick.

Edit: cant wait till Im lvl 30 and ill never have to see blind pick again. Draft is non existant pre 30 unless you want to wait 10 minutes per game.

I'm sorry, but without some form of lane reservation, how do you expect coherent teams to be formed in blind pick? Blind pick isn't ARAM; the expectation is that you still have a top/mid/jung/adc/support. Without lane calling, establishing the team devolves into bullying.

I'll typically avoid locking until I'm sure that my role is my own, but that doesn't excuse autolocking behavior. Healthy communication is important. Silently locking Zed despite somebody else stating "mid" is not only rude, but actively detrimental to the team.

What's your problem, dude? Are you trolling me, or are you simply not making your point clearly enough for me to understand? Because it seriously sounds like you're trolling me.

The traditional way for Blind Pick to work is that people communicate which lane they're going, on a first-come-first-serve basis. It's usually appropriate, though not always practiced, to not lock in their choice until the team comp is set. You make it sound like people should lock right away to seal their picks, regardless of the wishes or communications of the rest of the team. As in, I can call support and select Bard, but if somebody else thinks for 20 seconds and then locks in Soraka, I'm out of luck. That's pointlessly unfair and ineffective.

Also not everyone speaks English and can even communicate.

Stop being a baby and play draft if you want a guaranteed lane. This is only reportable in draft.

TLDR, Stop being dumb / toxic go play a lane.

So, to recap: I state "support" and pick Sona. Three other people state their lanes and pick them, leaving only ADC. ADC is by far my weakest role. The fifth player, without saying a word, locks Soraka. Now, if I'm upset by this, I'm either dumb or toxic?

Basically, to me it's toxic to blind pick queue if you can't fill. If you can't fill play bots till you can.

Then just play another lane with whatever champion you want. If it's blind pick, who cares if you play Azir or Ryze or whoever in the bot or top lane?
