....this. Just... this.

This is one of the more annoying things that can possibly happen in league. Flamers you can mute, trollers you just report, feeders you just seek psychological help.

But this? This? This is just infuriating. I know that sometimes things pop up in real life. Emergencies happen or suddenly guests come by or your wife needs you to go to the store to pick up some stuff for dinner. And life doesn't have a pause button. HOWEVER. I'm not talking about those people. I'm talking about the 9 - 15 year olds that try to sneak a quick game of league of legends in before the next class starts in 20 minutes. The kids that try to sneak a quick game of league before dinner. Or before bedtime.

Or the adults that have to head to work in 30 minutes and they need to catch the bus/train. Or whatever.

Seriously people. This isn't hard to understand. 1 hour cushion minimum. In case you haven't noticed? League is NOT a quick game. You don't try to play a -quick- game of league of legends. If you don't have at least an hour safety time, don't play league. If you're at class and you want to see a League game, watch LCS. Or play something else.

Please think of your other 4 teammates that have to play 4v5 because you just couldn't find something else to do in your short allotment of time.

I just report them and move on. I find that 90% of the time these people also come around with a duo partner who then avidly tries to defend why their friend had to leave and why we shouldn't report them because they abandoned the game for work or to go fuck their girlfriends or something.

I once had to leave because the game was going for one and a half hours already and there was no end in sight...

"please end i have to go to sleep" is even more tilting than "ggez"

If someone has to go they have to go. You can either play without them and try to win against the odds or you can surrender and save yourself some time. Reporting them does nothing unless they have a history of frequent leaving, which if they honestly just had to leave unexpectedly, will not often be the case.

It's just one of those things you have to suck up and deal with, which sucks, but life happens sometimes.

I wouldn't say one hour cushion - yes games CAN take up to an hour - but they rarely last more than 30 minutes - I personally give a 45 minute window and am understanding of people who have to go after that 45 minute mark - but yes the people who need to end before the 20 minute mark are the worst kinds of people

Time is of the essence, young one.

This is acceptable ONLY in COOP vs AI mode. When you do not really have time to play, but you just want a fast 15-20 minute game to get first win of the day. Even if I do not need to go I hate it when people who on purpose are stalling the game. It is boring anyways and if you want to try out builds - you can do it in training mode.

I was about to be like "But what if there's an emergency?" But you addressed that so +999

If only there was a game mode that took on average 15 minutes...

Oh wait, there was and Riot removed it to save a nickel.

That being said I don't see a problem with certain scenarios like if your friends want to play a game other than LoL that's actually fun.

FilDaFunk3/28/2017, 4:24:59 PM1 votes

Those people seem to be Rito's priority. Games keep getting faster.

I think I've left under 10 games total in the 4 years I've been playing. Most of those due to internet issues or a computer that crashed or some technical issue within LoL itself. There's been a total of two times that I've left a game for other reasons. Once because our carbon monoxide detector going. Once because my brother called me away because of some emergency. (It ended up not being an emergency and he was just bein' an asshole.)

I've not once left a game because "I didn't have enough time." If I don't have an hour free minimum, I won't start a game. Simple as that.

So, I just played a game with a Fiora. And we're stomping pretty hard. However something I sincerely notice is that the very VERY first time we lost a team fight. (We won like 6-7 of them the whole game) they immediately type /gg in all chat and call surrender.

We won the game. So afterwards I asked them why they tried to call surrender.

Their response... "Because I have work." The game was 25:44.

You mean to tell me that this person started a league game with less than 30 minutes before they had to go to work?

Literally, after we wiped in the teamfight, we immediately came back and destroyed them and won. Meaning if they game went on for about 5-6 minutes longer, they would have just left. Meaning that our most fed member of the team would have just AFK'd and insured the loss, since most of the gold went to them.

Seriously, can Riot make more of an effort to give players a warning to have at LEAST 30-45 minutes of a cushion before starting a game? :/

MistroTTC3/27/2017, 10:30:12 PM1 votes

Yeah there isn't really an excuse unless the game goes on for a really long time (like 50 min) or its due to unforseen weather conditions and the power might go out.

Astrovert3/27/2017, 10:39:36 PM1 votes

If you don't have 45 minutes set aside to play a game then don't play at all.

I really don't care what your excuse is I'm reporting you anyways. The system is designed to allow for once in every 6 months of something crazy happening, but odds are you are much worse than that. Especially if you have a friend in game begging us not to report you.

AdeBug3/27/2017, 11:12:43 PM1 votes

the thing that pisses me off is they try to forfeit from min 20 to min 40 or beyond when we were actually winning and all we had to do was keep playing. If you're ahead, the game will drag on for longer than necessary when at least 1 person gives up but doesn't actually afk.

I mean, do you really have to go? If your house is burnin down, then you'd afk or worse, d/c. If you're still there, chances are you dont really GOT 2 GO.

They keep playing and going afk from time to time, wasting ppl's time cus voting, bringing their morale down and no rooting in chat can fix that, like why would u choose to waste 20m instead of pulling hard 5 to 10 minutes if you really wanna end

RacoonHunter3/28/2017, 5:25:02 AM1 votes

I just end up saying F the system that doesn't work 50% of the time and leave if it's a dire emergency.. not like the 5 minute timer between games wouldn't have expired by that time..

Dr Poro3/28/2017, 1:05:30 PM1 votes

I sometimes say that i gtg when the game is completely onesided and unfun. Some people don't even surrender at 0-23 in a normal game. I'd rather report those than the ones that afk afterwards.

GeroldTheGlutton3/28/2017, 2:07:57 PM1 votes

I had a Riven in my game who lost lane to AD Fizz and then proclaimed that she was a French Law Student and had to do some homework. Possibly one of the worst excuses I ever heard of, it's not like you can plan ahead of time and not start a game in the early morning when you have homework to do, let alone that you could have done that kind of homework like a day before.

He's going to turn out to be a terrible lawyer if he can't even remember the Summoner's Code.

Joseraph3/28/2017, 3:06:39 PM1 votes

This is so infuriating that it's hilarious. There's nothing funnier than when you're the only fed one on the team and you say "i gtg in 5 mins" (but you don't actually have to of course)
