I don't mind low priority queue itself: I just hate how it LIES to me.
Yesterday I had to dodge a queue because of an unplanned situation. Whatever, I knew I'd get low priority queue next game. Oddly, enough, several hours later, no low priority queue. Huh. Okay, didn't think anything of it but I knew that kind of luck couldn't happen so frequently so I expected a bigger one, regardless should it happen again.
I miss picking in time this morning because someone else didn't call or pick their role and I didn't want to put team on tilt over cross-picking the person who was above me (regardless of simultaneous pick). Okay, I'm now in low priority queue for roughly a half-hour. More than fair, I should have just picked and salavaged what I could out of the situation and that other person might have been the one to "dodge" so this wouldn't have happened.
However, the timer itself is a lie. It's more than twice as slow as an actual clock. I have been waiting for OVER an HOUR and it is still not finished.
Put me in all the low priority queues I deserve but actually post the correct timer, or, alternatively, if I'm only supposed to wait out the advertised amount, set the timer speed to reflect an accurate passing of time. Do not lead me to false beliefs. If anything, this only gives players an INCREASED feeling of disdain and will obvioiusly lead to legitimately toxic attitudes that will affect games that actually go through.
TL;DR - The low priority queue is over twice as slow as an actual clock and only makes people angry. Post the real wait time.
Update: Normally when low priority queues are finished, it puts me into the 'actual' queue and Im not even even sure if it did that this time around. There was no 'BUM!' nor when I was tabbed out did the LoL icon on my sidebar jump up and down to indicate me.
I thought to myself: "oh god noooooooooooooooooo" and expected to wait over an hour AGAIN. I entered queue normally. Huh?
Was there this secret change of how things were handled? What the heck is going on?
First the queue is over twice the wait as advertised and now you're not punished (at least this time, could be a fluke) by not having eyes glued to the client watching the time tick down so a game would pop?
Is it this way for everyone? Is it a rare occurrence?
