When a Person Complains ... in Ascension - to Report or Not Report

Absolutely amazed by one player (playing Maokai) in an Ascension game I had an hour ago.

The Maokai accused me to trolling in the game when I selected Galio, a champ that I thought was a good fit because I suspected that we might need an MR using champ. But he didn't stop complaining and finger-pointing.

As I responded at one point in chat, I told him that I was doing my best - and the end of the game stats seemed to back me up. (To be honest, I started tuning out his complaining and only put positive stuff in chat from that point onwards.) And. ironically, by the end of the game even though we lost, I ended up taking more damage (tank-wise) than he did during the game (my 48 786 to his 40 388)- and ended up having the second highest point total. Heck, I even had a better KDA too (my 15/12/32 to his 10/12/30) - it was the second best KDA on the team. Similarly, I did more damage and I think I might have even protected my teammates better than he did too.

Yet I was puzzled as to why through the whole game why he continued to harangue me. And I should note that he similarly gave a fellow teammate a hard time, who, in his opinion, was dying too much. (Perhaps that part was true.) He finished the game by saying "I will report you".

Should I have reported him? Or should I have buried the hatchet and let him go because he was having (I would guess) a bad day?

I report all forms harassment regardless of game mode.

Personally I would have. If the majority of what he was doing was just verbally abusing and harassing others in the chat then that warrants a report in my book regardless of the score line and regardless of the game mode. Hopefully he learns his lesson and hopefully your next game goes better than that one did.
