5 minute wait for "afk'ing"

So I faced a 5 minute wait because bugsplat forcibly closed the game and it wouldn't come back on until I restarted my laptop, seems a bit unfair to do this dont'cha think?

LeaverBuster won't apply a punishment for your first offense. If this happens often, you might want to look at troubleshooting your client issues. The Help & Support board is a great resource, as well as the support knowledge base.

They suggesting disabling my Mcafee firewall, so that's a BIG nope.

Disabling your firewall is a standard troubleshooting step for anything that may be network related. If you cannot connect, it may be due to your firewall blocking the connection, so disabling it and trying again will tell you if that's the case.

If you need to be walked through troubleshooting your issue, the Help & Support board I linked earlier is a great resource. Additionally, you could always open a ticket with Player Support.

mcafee just like norton firewalls/anti virus are very intrusive to the operating systems of computers. there are better software that dont have the intrusiveness of those. just fyi. but they can cause issues with connections , not saying this is the case.

I have used Norton since I started gaming. That was Everquest. I have never had a problem with any of this happening and I am not savvy enough to change settings and only run the default. I really wish people would stop giving bad information. You come off like you just hate premium programs. I apologize if that's not the case but there is not a damn thing wrong with Norton's program.

hate premium programs? im simply stating a fact that a lot of people have had with those. to each their own, but i have had more issues with norton and mcafee then any other software. i currently have eset antivirus software. i find it to be 100% better then those. it dont hog as much of the cpu and isnt as intrusive. that is my experience and my opinion. oh and there is stats to back up that eset is one of the best antivirus software you can get. it ranks higher then both of those. and before i got eset i use to have avast and that was very user friendly and was able to set up boot time scans on a schedule to perform on its own... i still have it on my lap top . but i use eset on my desktop.

And as I stated, if that wasn't the case then I apologize. No sense arguing with an ego. I have nearly 20 years of a problem free Norton anti virus. That is a fact. I am protected from anything and can run everything error free.

Is eset cheap? McAfee came with my computer by default.

i got it with my PC and its a subscription base.. i got it (well they forgot to ring it up LOL ) it was suppose to be $99 for 3 years

avast you can get pretty cheaply and download it from the web .

so i dont know how much it would if you flat out buy it.

i see commercials for another one called PC Matic and it seems to be low cost. its claim to be better then eset and they brag about 100% usa ran and made

I have used the Free subscription to Avast for 5 years and never once had any issues.

McAfee didn't even let me in the game at all.

So either get a real Virus Scanner, disable it or don't complain about Leaver Busters.

not true ... any time you dodge or loose connection , bug splat etc you are hit with a 5 min penalty

while dodging's penalty is also called "low priority queue", it is a completely different system than leaver buster.

They are commonly confused.

leave buster puts you into a low priority queue does it not? do you not occur the same penalty by having to wait 5, 10,15 mins based on how many dodges you get?

dodges are "per game" only, 1 dodge 1 penalty. It's also a timer penalty, not a game penalty.

AFKs are for 5 games.

who knows what happens when you combine 2 together.

It's quite unfair that you wasted 9 people's time because of your faulty settings, don'tcha think? And that's even the best scenario if it happened right on the loading time, otherwise you costed your whole team their win.

I use Avast, which is free but has buyable options. My mom uses AVG and one of my friends uses a different anti-virus that's also free.

None of us have had issues with them, and they work well for being free since we don't feel like putting money towards anti-virus' that don't allow us to play the games we want. Which, McAfee and Norton wouldn't let us play our games without issue.
