A way to make honours and reports actually mean something...

It just hit me after seeing yet another post from a person who was complaining about being disciplined and yet another post about someone who was complaining about the trolls and boorish behaviour in his/her game. So...here's my open letter to the Riot Devs...

Dear Mr./Ms. Riot Developers:

Could we have the reports and honours actually be used as a factor considered to place people in matches? That is, if a player has been a good little bee, did his or her games to the best of their abilities and was a good and honourable LoL citizen, could this be considered as a means of placing this honest player in games with similar players? And how about letting the trolls, complainers, feeders, afkers and bullies have their own little matches?

Given some of the nonsense that I've seen over this summer, it would seem to me that the best punishment for the nattering nabobs of negativity would be to let them fester in their own little self-made hells. And similarly, there are quite a few nice players out there who simply don't deserve being placed in games with these troglodytes and knuckle-draggers.

Please could this be considered... :)

Sincerely, BB

Prisoner's island, nothing new, discussed at length. Please review.

I mean I agree with you on some points like having to be matched up with positive players. However, Riot seems to not want toxic with toxic since there's still room for reforming. But another idea could be that you get something related to hextech crafting after a number of specific honors.

I'm going to toot my horn a bit here, but I have a decent amount of these so called "Honors".

Currently, I have:

43 Friendly (Not from friends btw, but from actual other people) 33 Helpful (Also not from friends. Most of the ones that I get from friends is Teamwork, and even then, I can count on one hand how many times my friends have honored me for Teamwork) 233 Teamwork (Of those, I'm going with the benefit of the doubt and saying that 5 of them were from my friends) 177 Honorable Opponent

This is an accumulation of maybe 6 months of active playing. This account was made in Season 4, but I'm juggling school, work, and other real life issues while also trying to fit League in here. I also want to say that the 6 months is not 6 months straight, but when I do get the chance to play. Personally for me, I feel like the Honors point system is absolutely useless for someone like me, since it feels like someone has to be consistently playing (on a near daily basis at this point) to get the emblem. Basically, it's a system that is more of a novelty than feeling like it actually does something.

You're suggesting pretty much a Prison Island type of matchmaking, which Riot has somewhat implemented (for Leaverbusters, it seems), but overall, not fully supporting it (if even at all). Prison Island is pretty much containing the detriments in one area so they don't spread. On paper, it sounds like a great idea. However, in practice, it's probably one of the worst ideas ever.

Many people think that the League community is extremely toxic, and there are days where I feel like that stereotype is accurate. Overall, I have met a good portion of people who do break that stereotype, but just imagine the League community as of right now vs. if you implemented a type of Prison Island matchmaking: The latter would definitely be the worst, since you're corralling all the negativity in one area, which many people will look at to judge and determine the entire League community.

The old adage: "One bad apple will spoil the bunch" rings true in the Prison Island scenario. Take all the bad players (not in skill, but in attitude), put them together, and then they will represent the League community, because negativity is much, much louder than positivity.

The Prison Island should not be considered, unless you want the negative players to represent you.
