I have had it with riot and league of legends and here is why.

I was in a situation where i was being flamed and trolled by a 4 man lobby, they would steal my camps, intetionally get me killed and flame me to the point i lost my cool and started talking shit back. I received a 10 game chat restriction for enduring 20 minutes of gangplank laughing at me as he ran up and q'd my camps, when he asked for ganks he would laugh as i initiated and run away, while all his buddies cleared my camps across the map just to aggravate me, in the lobby they told me they hope my family dies in a fire and all other kinds of nonsense. The words, dont bother me, the game throwing does.

Today, first game of the day naturally, the corki adc goes afk at 5 minutes, he is level 3. and tahm kench is suicide bombing bottom lane in a 1v2, i say "great adc afk at level 3 and tahm kench wont stop running in.. just chill man" unaware it was a 3 man premade, naturally, i was called names and flamed. Inevitably harmless, the game goes on.

Tahm Kench is following me, waiting for me to get a camp close to dead, then? He eats me steals it and spits me out. He repeats this while fizz flames me and rallies people to report me.

So I afk.

I have no interested in wasting more of my time, with this group at this point, i can't get level, i can't do anything. I sit here watching thresh hook me out of the safe zone for me to die over and over.

So what am i to do right? Endure this and get trolled all game?

Will i receive another chat restriction? Maybe a leaverbuster for afk'ing?

I know, "it's easier to catch flamers than trolls" one of them is ruining your game, the other we learned in 3rd grade dont matter. Remember? "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me"

I care far more about my time being wasted and people clearly fixing games with the intention to grief innocent players, but in riot's eyes a player stops being innocent the second they have had enough of the troll right? THEN they are fair game for "flaming"

Read many of the other threads here and you'll see many counterpoints to your stance.

  • Responding to toxicity with your own is not allowed. This includes AFKing. The other people on your team may be trying (besides the troll). Your AFKing just further adds to the chance of ruined game for other people.
  • Riot does punish non-chat toxicity. However, the system to do so is not as automated as the chat system. This means it takes longer to implement and bans come in waves. A wave just happened a day or so ago. There are tons of posts by people who were banned by it if you want to read a bit about it.
  • Riot also acknowledges their system is not perfect but they are constantly trying to improve it.
  • Just because one form of toxicity is more difficult to catch/prove doesn't mean it is more tolerated.

games like these happen and here is how i react personally

with gangplank nr1. just /mute all unmute gp, get to his lane and leech all the exp and money you want(not reportable because of strategic decision making). then umute gp, and as soon as he rages or curses at you mute him and report him after game.

the second one(corki) is clearly a troll so you need to play this smartly: say: do you guys think corki coming back soon? wait for flame mute all report

the last one is annoying(tahm) but there is a simple trick to getting around it steal fizz's lane. he is trolling you and he knows about tahm kench, no reason not to take his lane, more money, more farm, more succes. if you don't want to do that just ask the adc if you can support instead of tahm since he is probably having a bad time too mute all report

But this is more important dont talk back never ask for reports, never ask for a reason, never go into what they say, JUST MUTE realize the game is probably lost so just farm up and don't interfere with the enemy team. This will cover you against troll reports and will make the game quicker. DONT EVER DO THE THINGS I RECOMMEND HERE IN ANY OTHER SITUATION THAN WHEN YOU ARE WITH INTENTIONALLY BAD PLAYERS WHO INTENSELY FLAME.

As for you afking; its against the rules so expect a punishment. You not having a bad time is no defense, every rule they can reinforce they will reinforce.

if you really want to know why people downvote here's why. 1: you blame league of legends for assholes in your game(post name) 2: you flamed 3: you said this

that is simply not true, being a troll makes you fair game for a report nothing else. It is also not your decision to say who's trolling or not. It is riot's decision. I have seen %%%%s use this excuse against a 0/4 toplaner who had a bad game. 4:

"sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" they might not hurt you, but they do hurt and annoy other players. Furthermore flaming is against the rules.

5: You afk'd which is just as bad ass trolling. you also left 2 other players who are just as annoyed to deal with those guys.

you don't seem like a bad player or person to me, but this tread is something people downvote because they disagree with your actions, not because they are drones.

You acknowledge that it's easier to catch flaming than it is trolling, so what do you want the system to do?

Look the other way when you're flaming someone who's trolling? If it could determine if the other party was trolling we could just ban them anyway. Besides, I'm sure you've learned that two wrongs don't make a right. Both troller and flamer would be considered for punishment if both parties were caught.

I've had a few of those Kench players....I screenshot and report, esp after "baiting" them in chat to admit what they are doing...

I have a feeling it isn't doing much good tho....

O well..
