Why does riot pretend its Anti Toxicity/Trash Talking

You gave us taunts, laughs, and now emotes like a thumbs up which can be spammed sarcastically anytime you kill your opponent. You have given us the ability to spam ping an allies death timer, etc etc etc. We don't even have to type anything to shit talk anymore. I don't need to type "?" or "you ok bro?" when I kill someone, now I can just put a giant thumbs up to be like "good job bro, nice suicide." You have literally given people the perfect tools to me toxic or passive aggressive and then turn around and try to say "we don't condone these behaviors" when they take a written form. I am just so confused by this.

Taunts are competitive trash talk. Flaming isn't.

Riot has never said they're against trash talk. In fact, one of their tips specifically says "competitive BSing is fine". They are against toxicity such as flaming.

Riot's not anti-trash talking. Shit's part of the game.

You're supposed to stop short of harassment and slurs. That's the thing that trips folks up. I talk trash all the time when I outplay somebody, yet I've never been so much as restricted.

these are the people who claim they're not against trash talk - but when players put up logs which go something like "idiot, why did you do this?" "stop dying, idiot" et al. then they say it's negative behavior and that justifies the ban. right

Trash talk, whether RIOT thinks it's ok or not, is part of the problem with the overall negative feelings associated with the league. It promotes bad sportsmanship, and wears on a person over time.
