Chat restriction system is nuts now

I got a 25 game chat restriction for trying to defend someone from harrassment. I have been falsely reported 2 out of the past 5 chat-restricted games, when I'm silent. People know they can abuse your report system, and they're doing it dishonestly whenever they're mad. I shouldn't get a bad behavior screen when I'm keeping my mouth shut all game.

I already got chat-restricted on a game I didn't deserve punishment for. I have no faith that you can detect the false-positive reports from the positive reports for bad behavior.

The system doesn't just take their word for it, it scans your chat logs. If they are making false reports they will lose weight in them and it won't hurt you.

THE OTHER PLAYER IN THE GAME I WAS REPORTED FOR WAS WAY MORE TOXIC THAN ME. HOW COME I WAS PUNISHED?

Simply speaking, retaliation is not an acceptable or justifiable behavior. An argument between two players can easily create a negative experience for the rest players in the game with you. Regardless of the other player’s actions, this does not justify your own behavior. You alone are responsible for your actions within the game. If you encounter a toxic player like this, the best option is to simply report their behavior and move on.

Anymore, the whole system is just silly. Use /ignore if you don't like someone, 99% of problems solved. No clue why people hate using ignore so much.

Because that's how it works. They want you to be punished. They want you to suffer. Nevermind the mute button. I prefer to give as good as I get in real life, but they frown on that sort of thing here. The sad part is most of these people are voting age or will be soon. They openly embrace using people with authority to silence people who say things they don't like or that offend them instead of ignoring them or just saying what they want to say back. Just imagine someone who thinks GGEZ should get your account banned and the types of policies they would vote for in real life. I shudder. These kids will give their freedoms away to just not feel salty about losing. All this shits only punishable because they cry about it so much. Meanwhile the shit that actually ruins games barely gets addressed.

To you it may have seemed like you were defending someone, but the other 2 people in the game just see 2-3 people arguing more than playing. It creates a negative experience for them and they just report everyone who is arguing.

They best way to avoid this is to not defend people. You don't need to give a flamer the satisfaction of responding to them and getting yourself punished. Just mute them and report them. I don't need you to stick up for me because I usually have the person muted and can't see what they are saying anyhow.

If you truly were, you wouldn't be getting flagged by reports.

It's never 1 game that gets you punished, it's a pattern of behavior over multiple games. Perhaps you need to reevaluate how you go about communicating with your teammates.

Well, that's the problem. With all the false-positive reports, it creates a false-pattern, and they will punish me increasingly less-offensive material. I got reported for several non-toxic things since my chat restriction began, 1 of which I was silent in throughout play, but because I mentioned I couldn't communicate much due to restriction, he wanted to see me further punished just because we lost. He reported me for verbal abuse and told the other team to report me.

False positive reports are thrown out.

If you say nothing, there is no offensive material to punish you for. Just stop typing back to people. Mute them and unbind your "enter" key so you cannot type. Rebind your Smart Ping button to it and use that as your primary communication.

All of them should be you being silent. If you are already Chat Restricted, then you should know your account will be under tighter scrutiny. Just say nothing and communicate with pings.

So? The system works by looking at # of games reported vs total # of games. Not # of reports per game. People telling other people to report someone are just trying to get to you and you can, and should, report them for it. Just mute them and ignore them.

Just because you only received the chat logs for a single game does not mean you go punished off of only that game. As I said in your other thread, unless you committed a very serious offense, you are not punished for only one game. You were punished because you showed a pattern of bad behavior in multiple games. Riot just doesn't give you the chat logs of every single game that you were punished for.

Also, as others have stated above me, if someone is falsely reporting you, it won't matter. Reports alone do not get you punished, they simply trigger a review of your account, and if nothing is found, then you will not be punished and those who reported you will have their report weight lowered.

I told teammates a couple games I can't chat much cause of restriction, and in 2 of those games, we lost, and they began to lie to the other team about me being toxic. I'm keeping my mouth shut during these 25 chat restricted games. I'm learning to keep my mouth, shut, period. I won't communicate. I'll ping only, and I won't even say anything besides, ty, yw, and dragon/baron. Believe me. I won't chat at ALL! I wouldn't be surprised to get falsely reported in 1/5 of my games anyway.

I get falsely reported easily if I don't jungle/gank well enough to their liking. That's what spawns at least half the reports.

I get falsely reported easily if I don't jungle/gank well enough to their liking. That's what spawns at least half the reports.

Reports go through a validation process before any punishments are handed out. Just getting reported doesn't mean anything.

I got a chat restriction off of 1 game too, theres nothing you can do about it any time you be a little big negative now the system hands out bans and chat restrictions. You literally cannot tell people that they are doing bad and they should try to play smarter. you cannot tell someone to play defensive b/c they get butthurt and report you. you cannot do anything without getting reported, and theres zip we as players can do about it. only thing to do is to deal with it

I just got reported AGAIN!

we lost 11-38. I said things like "we can still win, guys." they agreed with me, but we kept feeding all game long. At the end, I said "I think I ganked well early. What happened, guys?"

Sure enough, I got a report for bad behavior. This game is full of wuss's who cannot critically analyze a situation. Nobody is responsible for anything. It's always someone else's fault in league. It's MY fault we lost, because at the very end, I asked what happened? I was slient all game, while the enemy team avalanched all lanes. I was 3/1/0 early. 3/1/0 early, and I was quiet all game long. I ask at the end what happened, and I get reported.

I'm on my way to permaban, I just know it!

Punishments are usually handed out within a few minutes after a game ends so if these things were counting against you then you would almost certainly be 14 day banned already.

But I was not toxic! People will report for toxicity any chance they get. I was NOT toxic this last game. I still get reports, though.

What I am saying is that those reports don't matter if you didn't do anything. Getting reported by itself doesn't mean anything. The only thing reports do is the the system to look for the reported behavior. If it doesn't find anything the reports are thrown out and the person who issued the report has the value of future reports reduced.
