Being Toxic[to the enemy team] (might) increases winrate

I did this experiment to test out whether being toxic would increase my winrate. Played a 200 games 100 chat is muted 100 im flaming like an orangutan when chat is muted I win 48 when I'm being toxic to the enemy team I win 54 I know I should probably have more matches and look at matches that were win/lost in lobby and such but I still doubt that would affect the 6% wr increase. This is sad TL;DR = If you want to climb be toxic to the enemy team, or you could be a good person and lose. P.S. Yasuo mains also seem to be the most toxic players with 46% of them being toxic in games I encountered during this study. item 3070 item 3070 item 3070 item 3070 item 3070

Apart from the effect being too small given the sample size, there's the additional problem that your previous experiment has a result on the next. After all your MMR changes while you play. I guess the best approach would be deciding at random whether to mute or flame, as this removes any bias created through the order of experiments over time. This would also fix the issue of winrate itself not being interesting in the long run, as either approach should eventually yield 50% winrate. By randomizing the approach per game you should get a 50% winrate, which is the result of your average performance using both strategies, meaning you would have a way of directly comparing your performance with each method.

Only one problem left, easily highlighted in that last sentence: your performance. The biggest problem with the sample size of your "study" isn't the number of games, it's the number of players: One. And a sample size of one doesn't really allow you to make any conclusions about a larger group.

This is actually a very small sample size, and one that it's not really reasonable to draw conclusions from. Both 48 and 54 are well within the margin of error for an approximately 50% win rate over a number of games, and 100 is far too small a total number to draw conclusions from as a result.

Additionally, many things that are against the rules increase your win rate. I am more likely to win a game of soccer if, at the start of the game, I shoot the other team's goalie in the leg. That doesn't mean it's okay to do, or that I should do it.

What a piss poor experiment. Theres no "control" other than yourself, which even then doesnt really count as a control since its not a 1v1 game, and your performance may vary depending on time of day, mood, champion selection, matchup, etc... but thats minor compared to all the other variables and small sample size.

Do the same thing, but play 100 games with chat, and another 100 games with the same exact chat. I bet the win rates will be different between those two sets of games, and it means NOTHING just like your "experiment" lol.

This is statistically insignificant and the numbers amount to nothing.

None the less, I think you are correct in concept, but I hope you are exaggerating with "flaming like an orangutan". We don't need or want that.

Then later on you post a thread and be like "I got unfairly perma banned! Rito pls" with a -50 downvotes and other delusional nonsense.

What the fuck is this? At this point, might as well grab a gun and shoot the enemy goal keeper when playing football.

This is ridiculous. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

i remember quite a lot of vids (mainly from sky williams) talking about how youre SUPPOSED to tilt the shit out of your enemys and bming them in chat is a good thing.

im a bit sad that the chat system doesnt allow this anymore.

its a 2 sided coin for me. yeah i dont want toxic ppl in my game, but i also liked the idea of trash talking the enemy to tilt them.

This is not a study.

Have you checked the MMR of the accounts, and not just their winrate?

I mean yea, I wouldnt be surprised. You're trying to tilt the enemy and make them lose focus. No wonder, any smart human would mute your trash talk and try to stay calm

Well it really is no secret that yas mains are some of the most toxic players in league lol
