Seeing a lot of threads about "gg ez" being toxic.

do you think you should receive a chat penalty based off of JUST "gg ez" ?

i find myself able to take it with a grain of salt, since im probably more focused on why we lost.

Its taunting, bad manners, unsportsmanlike conduct

Yes, and it does. Disrespectful little sods can go burn in permaban hell.

this is real fucking toxicity right here: brand is dc'd so jinx cant push lane, xerath mid is getting solo'd by ahri.

im already fighting my fucking hard counter in pantheon (im gp) who camps me? zac! i die under turret 4 times in lane and suddenly im the biggest pos on the team. like wtf am i gonna do? im under my turret, flaming and bitching by people doing barely slightly better, who didnt even have jungle pressure.

then of course you look at their recents and they went full fucking feedlord 10 games in a row.

ill take gg ez over this shit any day.

no tribunal notifications tho! go figure.

Let's just cut the shit people, the reality of gg ez is that it's a basic abbreviation of passive aggressive communication. It not only implicates hospitality through the initial "good game" but counter acts this through a demeaning "easy." To a competitive fan base this is demoralizing, nothing else.

If we ban people for saying ggez, then we'll more than likely be banning people for using their mastery emotes too... this madness must end somewhere.

should "gg ez" be punished? probably not. should it receive the same treatment that overwatch has given it? undoubtedly.

the statement has absolutely no positive aspect to it since it is used 99.999% as an insult, so why not replace it with something thats bound to make a few people laugh?

if someone kills you and flashes their mastery but follows it up with "I'm wrestling with some insecurity issues in my life but thank you for playing with me." or "It's past my bedtime. Please don't tell my mommy." you are going laugh and it gives you the option to joke around about it where as before when someone said "ez" there wasnt really a response that didnt result in a flame war.

I think the tribunal should specifically punish people who taunt in all chat by simply banning them from all chat.

This way the player cannot use all chat to harass the enemy, but he can still communicate with his team.

I find "gg wp" after a one-sided game way more toxic than "gg ez" could ever get.

At the same time using "gg ez" after a long and even game is basically a joke, so you shouldn't get offended by that either.

Its a form of taunting, and its the worst form I can think of. If they make a flashy play and it works out i get if they want to shout it in the chat, but if they say gg ez in the end, it makes you question your existence in League. I'm one to say gg and be sportsmanlike even if we won/lost 20-0, just because I've been on the other side of it.

Typically I report people going "gg ez" when it was a tough hard fought game because that is bad sportsmanship, we were just engaged in a great game and you go and ruin the respect I gained for you during the game like that.

If it was actually easy I'll let them get away with it since it was ez a statement of fact not of taunting.

If I can be banned for saying "don't forget to report our 0/55/0 intentional feeder, he was also abusive in chat, ty" then yes, "ggez" should also be bannable.

Until the rules are more relaxed on EVERYTHING ELSE then this phrase should not get an exception.

well it was relatively close last night, but yes has pulled ahead pretty far.

its only annoying if the person was being un-banterously BM all game

I personally don't think it alone deserves punishment. But I also don't let petty things bug me. I'd personally rather rito focus on getting the trolls outta the game first, since they are causing the overall problem of "toxicity" in the community.
