A Word to my Teammates as the Twitch From Last Game

Last game, was a pretty bad one for me. Impossible to deny, I played awful. Sometimes I do that, sometimes we all do, and many times we single handedly lose our team the game, and they deserve to be mad. I'm not good at adc, and I made stupid mistakes and fed, and I'm ashamed of myself for it, but despite all of that, I was most disappointed in what you all had to say to me, and for my ignorance to not mute any of you throughout the span of a 20+ minute normals game.

I was hit with a flurry of insults by people, and I was told things like, word for word, 'I can carry if your mom didn't give birth to you,' or 'I really hate you, I hope your family does from rapists.' I don't let insults like this bother me, and whenever I got one about how bad I was I would say 'sorry I'm having a bad game' or would even say 'I'm lagging,' just to avoid flame. But every time it was the same thing; 'Noobs always try to make excuses. Stop making excuses and go die.' I'm not emotionally affected by any of this, but it really goes to show how terrible some people can be to others. It's sad for both them and the people that play with them.

So from this, I learned a good lesson. Sometimes I get toxic, and get mad at my teammates, but I shouldn't do that anymore. And neither should any of you, no matter how bad a teammate is. Resist the urge to flame them, and just tell them it's okay, because chances are, they're decent players who just aren't playing their best league of legends. The league community isn't great at the moment, and there are a lot of assholes out there, but let yourself be the one who stands out and makes sure everyone is enjoying their league of legends experience, because, just maybe, someone you're flaming may be strongly insulted. Some people have bad games, and we as a community need to get better at accepting that. That's all.

This is the reason behind why I smurf on pre lv 30 accounts, I do it to try and be helpful to the community and make people enjoy the game. I don't do it to trash talk new players, I purposefully play sub par so that I continue to be matched with new players who I can teach the mechanics of the game to and try and help make this community a nicer place. I just wish League had a mentor system for new players.

It is extremely poor morality to show up to an LoL pvp game and be useless in all roles. Try playing tanky support if you are useless as ADC.

If you really are lagging stop playing immediately and fix your Internet connection and computer, no excuses.

This is usually why I try to stay positive and helpful towards my team. Regardless of their skill. We all have bad days, and even worse when we're just trying to play a brand new champion.

I'm sorry you had to go through such a terrible game. I really hope you reported all of them and listed the insults they threw at you. None of that is acceptable in any case. Regardless if they think they're justified because you were "bad". It's never okay to flame or be that toxic in a game that is about having fun.

I will however defend my team or even the enemy team if someone starts flaming or being an assbag. I don't tolerate flaming or toxic behavior, so I will always try to reassure the person being attacked that everything is okay.

I hope the rest of your games went better. And I'm glad you put this up here for others to read. Really helps remind the community to avoid being "that guy" we all hate to play with.

Also: I would suggest avoiding the "I'm lagging" as an excuse, unless you're seriously lagging ;) If you're having a bad game just say so, you don't need to be ashamed of it. The only people who will flame you for it are the toxic people who flame anyone regardless of what they say or do. But either way, just own up to your mistakes and keep playing the best you can! I still see a lot of positive people in the games I've played in the past, so hopefully you will run into them more often than the negative ones, and keep having fun.
