HONORING the opposing enemy player? What happened?

I really haven't played League much til this season. So my memory is a bit foggy. Was it ever a thing to honour enemy players back then? Or it was never a thing? Just wondering. Coz you know, sometimes you just have games where it's okay to lose coz the enemy player hard carried and was nice throughout the game. I won't mind giving those players some honour.

it was a thing

there was some stupid reasoning behind removing it

tl:dr: riot is a lazy bunch of shits and too stupid to code this into the new client/system.

Just give me back old client.

I could honor as many people as I wanted that deserved it. I could also honor the enemy players that at least had some sportsmanship.

But yes, this was a thing, but it got removed.

I'm honestly not sure, but I hope they add the feature again because sometimes the enemy deserves an honor too.

Honoring Opponents was used to BM, especially in Korea, so it was removed.

There are reasons that Honorable Opponent was removed, and while I enjoyed the ability to do so as well, I can see why they did away with it - honor is supposed to encourage teamwork, and quite often Honorable Opponent was used to belittle a person's own team.
