I'm a bronze player and I want to make this VERY CLEAR.

Having a higher rank than mine doesn't make you in any way superior to me, socially speaking.

I am a human being aswell, not just some random thing you meet online. I can participate to discussions and make them progress, in a good way too. I have the right to give my advice, and despite being a low rank player, I still deserve to be respected, listened to and corrected in a non harsh way, as long as I have constructed thoughts, am mature and am willing to make a discussion progress further. This applies everywhere, on the boards or in game.

I've been witnessing this "higher rank than you=socially superior to you" a lot more than usual lately and this seriously bothers me.

X Champion is OP, and Nerf X Champion are why this exists. The Bronze Meta is much different than Challenger meta.

I can play Blitzcrank all the way up to gold, but at some point, players are going to learn how to play around him. That doesn't make blitzcrank OP, He is simply hard to deal with when you are under skilled. And chances are if you can play around blitzcrank, you probably aren't bronze.

So in this sense, rank does matter when you are making opinionated statements about the game.

A challenger player is superior to a bronze player. As is a silver, gold, platinum, diamond or master, simple as that.

not that i believe this in any way but i have heard a theory that there is something wrong with the brains of bronze players.

again i dont believe this at all, but i just heard this rumor. so if its true then there are certain social implications.

Agreed. I dont care if a challenger player says something or does something, they arent right just because their rank is challenger. If someone makes an argument or a statement, you argue based on facts. Not "Well, challenger player said this"

Only time rank ever really means anything is when someone says something is situations like someone saying something is UP but you can point to challenger players and show that that thing is very strong atm.

u will notice that alot of high elo ppl posting here dont even mention their rank. e.g. someone who got banned 14 days for not wanting to surrender

regardless fair enough I am low elo myself but it is quite a dangerous mentality because it will probably make you get stuck in bronze longer than you should be.

Being treated negatively isn't exclusive to league and some derogatory comments are common in other social settings need it be about your body mass, test marks or otherwise. As long as it doesn't extend to harassment its better to just treat it as positive feedback.

That said when higher elo people do speak nonsense then it is important to sift that out using your common sense. Otherwise might be better to take it as a learning experience

This is why I always wear my Bronze icon from S6, because I remember how awfully people treat you, regardless of how much experience you have with the game via reading.

Once I got a better ping I got to gold the next season.

I agree :D, but I also think that there are just so many silver 5's who got 3 wins and placed silver 5 in season 7. They then proceed to declare themselves as gods against people that had 3 wins but placed bronze, and had to work their way out. Also, no offense, but support mains do this the most too.
