Noticed that these things make you less prone to getting flamed

So, I noticed somethings make people less willing to flame me and get on better with my team, even when I'm not doing too well in ranked, hopefully, these help some of you out: (Please do not type too much though, only when you've got nothing else to do)

-If I make a lot of corny jokes and puns and generally act really chummy with teammates (Before the game starts, typing in the middle of a teamfight is not suggested) -Act very positive and nice to the point where you compliment literally anything good that you teammates do (CS, whatever) -If you notice one of your teammates has a huge ego, stroke it and keep flattering him. Chances are, that guy will also be doing the most flaming and tilting, so nice words can go a long way and literally win you the game -Saying things that can imply you're a gay man/female (I really don't know why this one works, but it just does.) -Staying quiet when you're being flamed, or ignoring them and talking to others -Acknowledging and apologizing for mistakes -Thanking your teammates for saving you -Manboob jokes (I really don't get this one either, but it works) -Sexual jokes (Nudes, self-deprecation dick jokes, that sort of thing) -If all else fails, just mute :D

EDIT: I've just realized I've NEVER gotten flamed in a voice call before. Maybe try pulling your teammates into a discord call?

I find owning up to mistakes is one of the best ways for de-escalation

Unless you get that immature dude who's like "Yeah, that was your fault you dumbass" But generally, it's a great way to solve most problems :)

It only gives your teammate an excuse to make you a scapegoat and push their own mistakes on you further in the game. This is the LAST thing you want to do in the game.

Don't admit to things that aren't your fault. Be firm about what is your fault and what isn't to establish boundaries to prevent a blame game from happening.

It will happen anyways because in 98% cases your teammates act like sharks if you show weakness. Nobody needs more guilt then they already feel when they make a mistake.

Then just laugh it off when they do scapegoat you, cos you know they are full of shit.

I prefer muting them all in the beginning of the game, so I won't have to worry about what anyone would say and focus.

I disagree.

If you're making yourself out to be a homosexual, you'll most likely get flamed for that.

If you're making yourself out to be a female, you'll most likely get spammed by "go back to the kitchen" quote on quote "jokes".

The first one has never happened to me, and the second has happened maybe once or twice, but just a few games ago, Yasuo stopped flaming me after someone told him I was female (Yeah Idk) Anyways, for some reason being a female or saying things like "I'm gay for Sneaky" always seem to de-escalate situations for me. I'm not too big of a fan on playing the gender card, but if someone keeps flaming me, I always find that it's useful in online communities.

it's basically a shock effect and political correctness. unless they are really young, being aggressive against such a stance actually registers in the brain as that they are making themselves out to be the bad guy

same thing happens with women as unless the person is factually known as able to throw down in a brawl, unless the other person is also a woman(unlikely for that level of flaming but you never know), they then become the social outcast for pushing their "strength" over a woman as an unacceptable act

the safe advice though, don't try it in real life XD

Nope if you imply you are gay people will then realise its no longer a joke when people like to joke about being gay and riot actually has a reason to ban you for hate.

I have found that if someone starts to flame another player, just complimenting the bejeezus out of the player getting flamed usually de-escalates everything. For every insult from the flamer, I add 5 comments telling the target that their CS is amazing, man that was a good play, good job getting that tower, thanks for the support back there, you are just killing it today.

If your team hops on board with the compliment game, the flamer usually quiets down AND you get the added benefit of a super positive team.

The flaming guy normally starts flaming me for being a "positive retard". Sticking up for someone is great, and I'm glad that you're sticking up for your teammates, but I find it's really important to tell the flamer to shut the fuck up (politely, of course) or else they keep spewing toxicity at everyone and start nasty arguments. It's especially effective if you've got another person on your team who's on board with the plan, or a duo, because these people are like elementary playground bullies who back off the moment that they're outnumbered.

I don't get flamed. I preemptively mute the person who is going to start flaming. End result is, I don't ever feel flamed.
