Is All-Chat even worth keeping for anything besides "GG"?

I've been taking a break from League to play HotS, and the complete lack of all-chat in that game actually makes the community a lot less toxic. Then you look at League, and most of the all-chat that ISN'T "GG" is toxic.

World of Tanks also removed all-chat because of too much toxicity and too many instances where someone was all-chat-typing and died as a result. I'm sure there are other PvP games that disallow it too, which makes me wonder if it's a good idea for League to keep it anymore.

Just something to think about.

No, all chat is useless for gameplay. I would love to analyze the data from april fools (when they disabled all chat so the enemy could look like bots) and see if toxicity in games went down or number of reports went down or whatever. I just want the data. I have in the past accidentally left it off (on a smurf because you start with it off) and I personally thought my games were less toxic and I tilted less.

On the other hand I love to trash talk my opponent when I'm stomping their face into the ground or when the jungle comes top and dies 1v2 so I don't turn it off now. Also in low elo tilting the enemy after one death can straight up win games.

Some of the best moments I've had in League are when both teams are talking with each other. Someone on the other team has a question about a mechanic/champion/change? Being able to talk to them about it helps make it less frustrating to play against and easier to understand. It's also fun to see two players getting along, making friendly jabs at each other.

One of the things that turned me away from HotS was a lack of all chat.

I have a lot of positive interactions with my opponents, especially at the start of the game. I can't say I would disagree too much with them removing it, but for me personally it has been a positive influence on my games.

I have had all chat disabled ever since that option was made available, so for several years now, you don't miss out on a thing, not to mention it helps clear team chat, because riot for some reason removed the ''clear chat'' button you have no way of removing insults in chat so instead shift + enter for all chat and press enter and spam it to get rid of the insults
